That is an awesome bumper. Strong and great looking. How much to make one up?? What about a matching rear?

    Coldest starting temp.

During the cold snap about a week or two ago here in CT t got down to around zero. Truck had sat for two weeks prior, with no use. Went out, cycled the GP's and she fired right up, no plug-in or nothin. Blew some grey/blueish smoke for about 10 seconds (maybe less) and was loud as **** for at...

    85' M1009 build thread

Where did you get the tach and how is it wired up? I would like to do the same thing, but I didn't know you could use that type of tach without a lot of work. Thanks,

I would love to snap up a set for my M1009, but I won't have the funds for a while. Just found out my front end needs rebuilding ! Bummer ! By the way, those Oh Sh*t handles are great, thanks !

    New London-Norwich Area ?

Anyone from this area that can recommend some decent salvage yards? I want to go looking for some seats, perhaps sliding side windows and various other parts. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

2012 USS Torsk work weekend in Baltimore, 10/5-10/7

Unfortunately, I will be on travel for work and I will not be able to make it. However, if we could get a longer lead time on the heads up, I may be able to plan for this in the future. Thanks.

m1009 to use wheel spacers or not.

If memory serves me correctly (50/50 on that), don't the 1009 wheels have a zero offset? What other wheel has that offset and will fit properly? I would love to ditch the stock 15" wheels (tires are expensive) and go with a 16" steelie, but I didn't think there was anything else out there.

Where best to tap Instrument Lighting Circuit?

When I turn the ignition off in my 1009, all my lights go out too. Is this normal or do I have something in the wrong position? I like it the way it is so I don't have dead batteries.

    M1009 Rear power 24v to 12v modification

Awesome. Have you tested voltage to the rear busbar yet? I was thinking of buying a 24 volt inverter for that back area, but now I can go out and get a 12 volt one. Thanks !

    CUCV custom bumper

I like it. If I had one made I think I would mount the entire bumper higher by about 1 to 1.5 inches. That would give you a bit better approach angle up front and make the top of the brush guard even with the hood line. I would also put a winch mount in the center. On my wish list.

    1009 Transmission Issue

Thanks Matt, I'll check that out. I am trying to make sure this baby lasts. Still have several things to do, but the mechanicals come first. Rebuilding this trans if I miss something won't cut it.

Hey Darren, check out the post about that front bumper being fabbed up. It looks real nice and would be popular for a lot of folks here. Also, thanks for the grab bars. REAL NICE !!!!:D

    1009 Transmission Issue

OK, for just the third time since I have owned her, I drove my 1009 over 350 miles, one way, at one time. Each and every time I have done this I have accumulate a fine coating of what appears to be transmission fluid on the rear of the truck. I have carefully monitored fluid levels and they...

    CUCV custom bumper

Maybe he can give you the plans so a few others could make (or have made for them, for us less skilled folks) that beautiful hunk of steel ! A matching rear bumper would be awesome!

Starter binds sometimes but catches fine other times. Thoughts?

I just keep a hammer in my oh9 for when the starter sticks. :grd:

    Awesome Roadtrip in my M1009!

What tire are you running on her? Also, did you keep track of your overall mileage ?

    Antenna Mount threads

I had the same thing happen to me. I bought some galvanized bolts from HD and I guess the galvanic coating increased the diameter of the bolt and threads ever so slightly. Anyway, it locked up one of the nutserts. I just had a buddy tack weld each one to the body, then I chased each nutsert...
