I see a lot of people pulling the 6CTA and putting in ISL's. I was just wondering the advantages of these over the stock motor.

Why swap to an ISL over the stock 8.3? Seems like a lot of people are pulling the motors....just wondering why.

Does anyone know what the speed loss will be on the top end from 14.00R20's to 395's? I am still on the fence on either 16.00's or 395's. I am always towing heavy but I also want to be able to do at least 60 MPH.

I was wondering if anyone has upgraded the transmission cooler on these trucks. What would you recommend? Cranking the power up this year and will be around a consistent 50,000 lbs plus. Any recommended parts, pics would be appreciated. I am trying not to fry the Allison. I kind of like it......

Other than the trailer tire blowing AGAIN....the trip home went well. Truck had plenty of power for being stock. No noises or vibrations. What could it be if the flanges are removed and now no noise?

So a quick update. Took off the front axle flanges. Simp walked me through it. Thanks Simp!!! 140 miles and no vibration or noise. Bad news is that I blew the spare trailer tire I just put on!!!.....grrrrr
