Hex bolt, brake drum to hub - replacement?

You would be fine with the bolt that is threaded all the way down

Starting research ld 465 1c turbo upgrade

So here is what I am thinking (still undecided on the turbo) but after reading as much on diesel injection as I have recently. I plan on pop testing my injectors and setting them to the minimum spec. This will marginally decrease power but will spread the injection event over a longer period of...

    DT466 turbo on LDT-465??"

I just did some reading on the dt466 turbo and it seems to be a t4 hot side so it should bolt right up. But it seems like most of the guys with those engines swap to a better turbo to make more power. Some of the guys were swapping th hx40 off the 8.3 Cummins but they are also targeting 450+ hp...

    11x20 tires on Deuce?

because of the cost I am running factory wheels even though I know it is not the best solution. I will say that I do know it has been done safely countless times so I am not concerned about that. I am buying tires from the auction and they have been working out to about $125 a piece. I have a...

    11x20 tires on Deuce?

The only reason I am not going with 11’s is cost. So I am doing 395’s even though this is not my ideal choice my pocket persuaded me in to it. It is just simple math 6 tires will cost less than 10. maybe one day I will loosen the pocket and get the g177’s I would like to have.

    Died w/decreasing idle

I am lazy so I like to start with the easiest first. It doesn’t get easier than checking if the in tank is producing pressure. Just flip the power on and crack the bleeder on the top of the filters. Then I would go to replacing the filters. And depending on the results to where I would go from...

The problem with those calculators is they do not always account for total engine flow but base their figures off of general engine efficiency statistics. In the case of the ld series engine it is not as efficient as many of the other engines that the calculator is used for. Being that I am not...

Starting research ld 465 1c turbo upgrade

So it seems like there is no negative to regarding the timing when adding the turbo. It will help the turbo be more responsive and decrease static cylinder pressure. the turbo I am looking is a t4 hot side on a hx35 they are sold as a upgrade for the 5.9 Cummins. I want to do a little more...

Does anyone know the reason that we are supposed to adjust the timing when adding turbo.

Starting research ld 465 1c turbo upgrade

That article is talking about extreme lean condition that causes preignition. I have read about this before and it is not easy to get the condition right to do this in a diesel. Basically you need to have a combustion chamber or a piston that has a (hot spot) that causes the preignition. With as...

correct me if I am wrong but the way I understand you can not run a diesel to lean. Unlike gas engine that will run high egt spark knock and melt pistons when lean. Where a diesel will run high egt with lack of oxygen and surplus of fuel.

I don’t know if I can find the thread any more. I just remember the guy saying the truck ran like crap until he changed the timing. This may have been a isolated incident. I do not have a target boost number but would not be opposed to running 25 psi if it would be safe.

    Original bed for dump conversion

If you are not loading more than 5 ton you don’t need to add a bunch of extra support. The guys that are saying it is weak are obviously operating well outside of the normal operating capacity.

Starting research ld 465 1c turbo upgrade

I am starting to research and plan the turbo upgrade for my truck. Because I am planning on using a aftermarket wastegated turbo there are a few more variables than just buying the military upgrade kit and calling it a day. Let’s hear your ideas and opinions on what will work, what precautions...

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

I just want to be clear my transmission was damaged before I put the new fluid in. I just found it as I was looking in the trans with the top cover off. I believe that the fluid that was in the trans previously (I suspect it was corn head grease) was installed to hide the problem.

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

That seems to be the thing with these trucks what one likes the other may not. I should have done the more logical approach and started with the cheapest option first but it is to late for that now.

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

It shifts with less effort now but fourth will grind really easy if the rpm’s are not just so. I got it from summit it is their transmission specific straight weight. To be honest I think it is synthetic but I don’t remember. I can look at the bottles and find out.
