Findlay 2013 Armed Forces Day Event

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

No I didn't use any RTV. Just the paper gaskets. As said before just make sure you clean the area well and vacuum up the mess in the engine valley after and make sure you don't get anything into the ports on the head.

Mine was kinda stuck when I took it off. I tapped it with a deadblow a few times.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Re: What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? Installed new power steering lines. Looked like a walk in the park until I actually got my hands in there. The new lines had a slightly different bend on the hard line part. Nothing that a little tweaking and bending couldn't take care of though.

What filter for WIX 24770 base

I use the WIX 33005 filter. I filters down to 3 microns I think. If you look in that thread I posted, on the last page there is some talk about the different filters and microns. There was also a chart online that I had but can't find it now. If I find it ill post I up later.

    M1009 Rear Seat Help

There is a small lever behind the seat on the right or left side, that lets the backrest fold forward. Then behind the seat, close to the floor, there is a black handle. Pull up on it. That should unlatch the seat from the floor and let it fold forward and up much like in a Jeep. Maybe have to...

M1009 Rubber seals and such...Good Vendors?

I can agree with that. I've bought stuff from LMC Truck and Classic Parts. Price and quality were about the same.

Re: What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? I almost forgot, had our metal shop at work cut me a nice aluminum mounting plate for my fuel filter setup.

I've been thinking the same thing. Let's see where this goes.

Anyone had their IP rebuilt recently?

I've priced out pump rebuilds and Badger seems to have the best price going right now. He's a really nice guy too. I've ordered other parts from him before. I'm planning on just buying a pump outright and not sending mine back as a core. I would rather hand on to it just in case.

My CUCV spin on fuel filter mod

I don't have any experience with the squeeze bulb but, I did use a brass ball valve on one of the holes on the WIX base. I put a couple feet of rubber fuel hose and drained towards the ground along the frame rail. I just crack the valve, crank the motor and she bleeds out. Just gotta remember to...

    Coldest starting temp.

I drive my M1009 every day. She's been starting fine with just one cycle on the GP's. She sounds like a coffee can full of nuts and bolts when you first start it on a really cold morning.

Replaced the IP fuel hose in the intake. Fun times. Filled up the tank and drove it to work today.

Nice tips. Thank you very much. I have some of those plastic trim tools somewhere. I'll give it a try

Questions on installing hard top glass

I'm trying to seal up my hardtop windows on my M1009. They were leaking a little and figured I would take them apart and clean and re-seal everything. My question is when re-installing, do I install rubber onto the top then put the glass into it or do I install the rubber around the glass and...

To use a fuel additive or not in m1008

I use Howe's Lubricator. Seems to work well.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced the push button for my glow plug system. I'm still working on replacing rubber fuel lines and tracking down why I'm having hard starting issues in the morning.
