Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I personally have always tested a cooling system by over pressurizing the system by 3-5 psi. Let's be honest if something breaks under that little amount of extra pressure it needed attention any way and all you did was save yourself a future problem. The extra pressure also helps find the leak...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Break in will always be a argued subject with many different opinions. No one will ever win a break in discussion that is whi I present my opinion and just let it go. I in no way intend talk down about any ones opinion or way they do things but simply wanted to share the knowledge I have...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I have been in the automotive field all my working career and understand I am still young. I do not believe in break in oil or any special break in procedures. Just let the engine heat cycle then change the oil and filter to make shure you get any foreign material out of the engine. Then run it...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Top rings are supposed to have more gap than the second ring because they get more heat and will expand more. The gap only matters while in the cylinder. Out of the cylinder the gap means nothing. The second ring that was not contacting the cylinder wall is most likely the culprit for so much...

    clutch disc variations ?

Sprung clutches are easier to drive and not as harsh when they grab. Unsprung clutches can not have a spring failure. Unstrung clutches have a more positive feel to some people but that is debatable. Sprung clutches also can reduce shock on drivetrain when trying to shift quickly. Basically they...

MRAP GSS SEAT in a deuce

You can do the air ride bottom but put limiting straps in it so that the seat will never go above your desired height. They will also allow you to increase the air pressure in the bladder to make it less bouncy.

    Snow-Deuce (Chesuncook Lake, Maine)

I agree the skis look like they would get lodged in the ground and cause major problems. If I was th do something like that I would have curved the front of the skis like a snowmobile so you would not have to worry about them digging in. But the tracks look really cool and quite useful.

    multi fuel years and models

This is exactly whi so many people hate the forums. Some not all of the more knowledgeable/ long time forum members get there heads all swollen because they answer a lot of questions. Now that these select few answer a lot of questions they get this attitude like they are better than the rest...

    M35a2 oils

The transmissions I was referring to are in vehicles like the ford cobra mustang these cars make fairly respectable hp and torque numbers. The ford/Mazda ranger/b series pickup we all know these little trucks get more than there fare share of abuse. Most of the eighties to nineties Mazda...

    M35a2 oils

I have worked on many manual transmissions in light car and trucks that can take 80/90 and atf or a 50/50 mix of both. This is stated in the factory service manual of the vehicles. So to say that 30wt will cause damage when that is what the manufacturer recommends does not make sense to me. Now...
