When I was in Iraq, we had to deal with EFP's "Explosive formed Projectile" These types of IED's are fully capable of penetrating the Armor of our MRAP's. The EFP's are much harder to manufacture, but very effective.

Just my thoughts, but with the military vehicles, mileage dosent mean too much. What really matters is maintenance. The military has many, many trucks with high miles and hours that run/ drive awesome, and the also have many, many trucks with low miles and are pieces of junk. It all depends...
As far as fire wood goes, there is a pallet manufacturing company by my house. Their scraps are free to the public and range from nice hardwood to pine boards and block. If anybody is interested send me a PM
