    M-114

Come on guys, I’m sure it’s legit. My cousin knows a guy who knows a guy who was in the Army once for a few weeks, and he says it’s just sitting there, nobody is using it so he’ll sell it for a good price.

Military antenna conversion to AM/FM car radio

Lowell, Your antenna looks like an AS-3916. Same 30-88 MHz as an AS-3900. It should work just fine. Looks like a rugged little unit. How are you going to get power to the radio? Is it 12-24volt?

Military antenna conversion to AM/FM car radio

The AS-3900’s in the picture are designed for 30-88 MHz so they are not far off. You’ll be fine for rx only.

    FMTV Fording

Trying to fight water is usually an exercise in futility. Be very careful when fording deep water or moving water. https://abcnews.go.com/US/fort-hood-releases-names-soldiers-killed-training-accident/story?id=39617636

    Help identifying m1102 radio stuff

Some of the switches and connectors hold a little value, but you have to ask yourself if it’s worth your time to disassemble the pieces then sit on them until they sell for very little money. I tried selling some shelter components a couple of years ago. Nice switches, stainless hardware, very...

I like "it's your truck" do what as want.

That Jeep just isn’t right anymore. How can you stand to have it around? You should send it to me immediately. Nice work! I see so many engine mods, but rarely have I seen a swap to another period correct military engine. I’d bet that some GIs had the same idea many years ago. If you’re doing...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I just spotted two M101A2 trailers in a motor pool at Ft Hood. They looked great, on line, clean and serviceable with good tarps. First M101 trailers I’ve seen in service in quite awhile.

KC memorial day weekend May 26-27 2018, National WWI Museum Memorial

I won’t be able to bring a vehicle, but I’ll plan on stopping by.

    Cross Country in an M820

You nailed it right here. I made my M813 recovery a family affair and created some great memories. I no longer have that truck, but I regret nothing. The above advice is sound. Just make common sense preparation and have your favorite credit card card ready just in case. You’ll do fine. Let us...

    ISU-90 Roof Sealant

I’ve got an ISU-90 container that has a split and peeling seam on the edge of the roof. The construction is similar to a shelter; aluminum skin over a lightweight core. In this case I think it’s wood, or composite and wood. Anyway, I’d rather try some adhesive sealant instead of trying to bend...

UH-1H Huey vehicle dismantlement and extraction

Are the other trucks shown at the pick-up site, or the drop-off site? My guess is the other trucks are at the site where the disassembled truck was dropped off by the helo. What did this recovery cost the owner?

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I spotted two M105s in a motor pool on Fort Bragg today. Both looked serviceable from a distance, but one was stenciled “Metal Scrap” and the was labeled “Wood Scrap”. I’m curious if either trailer is on their property book. Not likely if I had to guess.

    M200A1 Trailer Question

Taking the ALCAN or a ferry? Going thru the mountains in the Yukon and BC is no joke. If you’re towing the full PU-802 without brakes take it slow. Very slow. And watch out for critters. Elk, moose, bison, bears, etc have no issues with standing in the road. Stopping quick with that trailer...

Bombardier MLVW , anyone know these beasts ?

Some do have some very nice features such as the hydraulic winch, single wheels, and over cab storage rack. I’ve seen some with a crane behind the cab too. Don’t they have a decent 8.2 Detroit engine and auto trans as well? Got some pics of the truck you’re looking at?

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I travel all over the Army and I don’t see many at active duty post or RC installations any more. Usually when I see a 101 or a 105 it’s sitting alone in the back of a motor pool looking all sad and neglected. I agree with porkysplace statement above, there are some out there, but they’ve mostly...

Hawaii Introduces Bill to Allow Military Vehicle Registration (including HMMWVs)

I saw several pinzgauers when I was in HI last year. I can’t imagine trying to drive anything much larger on O’ahu. It was so congested there, just finding a place to park a 5 ton or 2.5 ton would be a nightmare. The other islands might be different, I only traveled around O’ahu. HI does not...

trying to decode m35a2 bumper numbers and the FSB painted all over truck

I believe there was a 46th Infantry Brigade of the MI ARNG under the 38th ID of the IN ARNG. 46th Infantry BDE had a 146th Forward Support Battalion. Under 146th FSB was C Company. C Company was the FSBs medical company. However, those bumper numbers don’t reflect that. Next to the 38I should...

    What is this?

I’m curious about the going price for one of these in the ‘States. Standard 4x4 Defenders don’t come cheap so what do they want for one of the 6x6 beasts?
