Got a call from Nick about 1.5 hours ago, the motor went south about 80 miles from home base, he is having the truck towed to a nearby yard, and is driving the 1008 the rest of the way. I think he will be driving his other Deuce tomorrow to recover.

I did a truck with Gillespie paint but it came out too shiney.
I put a Banks system on my 1009 with a 6.2, TH400, and 3.73 gears with 33" Swampers. I used to hate driving it anywhere that required driving up a significant grade, with the turbo, it's a whole new truck to me. If you can afford it, hang a turbo on it, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Here is a link to a 12 volt conversion that actually works, look at it and see if your truck was done the same way, otherwise, you may have a big mess on your hands.

I think your alternator or charging circuit is not working, start the truck, then pull the negative battery cable off, if it dies, the charging circuit is not working.
You should have more than 11.5 volts when the motor is running.
