What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Thanks for the heads up on the mounts. I have seen the inserts for sale, but can't remember where. I will look into it.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

P.S. I ordered the Holy Grail of 700R4 swap parts off fleabay Saturday. The illusive TV Bracket. I had been watching it for a week or so at $95.00, the price had been lowered to $90.00, but in the process of the buy it now, apparently the seller lowered the price again to $85.00 right at the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Thanks man. I guess I have learned a thing or two working on vehicles for 35 years. I'm just not used to Chevy's, my time in the trenches has all been Mercedes except for my own crap.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I was hoping no one was gonna tell me about all the pile on stuff. I have to replace the flywheel because of the bolt holes, found one at Saturn Surplus for $35 plus shipping. I have to do the rear main, its slinging oil all over and that is only about $40 bucks. I want to do the engine mounts...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

This weekend I decided to get back on the CUCV project I started a while back. The problem started about a year ago when my driveline vibration got drastically worse all of a sudden one day. Come to find out, the bolts holding the transmission to the engine had fallen out. I limped it to Lowes...

Need Buick Skylark transported from Trinity Al to Dexter, MI

According to Mapquest, there are 2 towns named Trinity in Alabama. I can't for the life of me figure out why they would name 2 towns in the same state the same thing. Anyway, You might want to clear that up for a potential hauler. One is in Morgan County and the other is in Calhoun County.

Any idea of what I should expect to pay per loaded mile for hauling a deuce and 1/2

That's pretty funny bright there. I don't care who ya are.

    Oil Cooler line leak...

As far as the tubes that go across the radiator are concerned, that is something that baffles me. The oil cooler lines come out on the left side of the engine but go to the right side of the radiator, while the trans cooler lines come out of the right side of the trans and go to the left side of...

@cyclejay. Did you have Marietta radiator do the work? Just curious. I know we had discussed them a while ago. They are good people and have taken care of all my radiator needs for many years.

    It' not an M880......

Nice truck. Seeing this 77 Dodge makes me wonder why it took Chevrolet another 10 years or so to jump on the extended cab bandwagon. Ford did it back then too.

'86 M1008 cranks too slow to bleed

After talking to my friend in Mississippi, we have both come to the conclusion that the starter is the culprit. He is gonna bring a known good one with him when he returns to Atlanta later on in the week. It just can't be batteries because it does the same thing with the known good batts from...

'86 M1008 cranks too slow to bleed

The exact same thing is happening to my M1008 after running it out of fuel. Mine is also about 200 yards from the house give or take. It seems like a mile after I walked back up to the tool box 50 times. Anyway it spins over like gangbusters with the glow plugs removed but when I put them back...

New Production 6.2L/700R4 TV Brackets (Interested?)

I would be interested in that bracket. The transmission guy at my new job (GMC Dealership) is currently looking for a 700R4 for me that will mate to the transfer case. Thanks.

    GSA lot on hold

@ 319. I am sure that is the MV the OP is referring to. The name of it rhymes with the 'F' word. LOL.

    Short attention span

I like the ratrod but it looks like the cab will be a bit 'Breezy' without a windshield. Oh well, just wear goggles, it'll be fine.

Official 2012 SS Ga Rally Info thread

Break the record. Well, that settles it. I guess I have no excuse NOT to get the CUCV road worthy for the Rally. I will try again to get Hogtruck on board too. Wreckerman, I will be in touch with you prior to event. I will gladly volunteer to help you get all your chit packed up on Sunday to...
