    M1031 Build

Is Gen VI TBI or MPI? One nice thing is the big block fits right in with no issue regardless of the transmission. All the tough stuff is off the shelf same as the 8.1 engine. Not like a Cummins which yeah there are adapter parts but you are still putting something in there that didn't come...

    M1031 Build

I was always worried about the cruise rpm stock even with 37's. I'm much happier with the 4L80 and a tach now. I'm hoping that buys me some time. Speaking of it...probably should replace my balancer. It has been ten years. I hate to say it, I think the 6.2 is an absolute pile of junk. But it...

    What maintenance to do first?

Wait people test these? Time is money, if they are out they should be replaced anyway. Save yourself from the shouting🤣

Detroit Diesel - lesson learned Sorry for the hijack. It's a shame that the only way to get something reliable is go with a $15k Navistar engine. I would be content with going with a new Detroit but having a grenade with the pin out isn't nice after spending $5k for a long block. Unless the...

    M1031 Build

I know nothing about turbo system designs other then the basics but the factory system is whack. Talk about design compromise in the manifold. Also seems like the only source of a factory manifold is low quality aftermarket or used which isn't great either.

    M1031 Build

Waiting 🍿🍿 This will be epic. Condolences to the crankshaft. Seriously I like the idea of two little turbos on the 6.2 for sure.

8.1 is almost 500 foot pounds just sayin... I'm guessing you are building your own manifolds? Do you have a build thread on this? I am curious...asking for a friend 🤣

    M1031 Build

I got one from B4Thunder many years ago but not sure if he is still selling them. I don't think he is. I don't think the programming is hard. Just need to know how many teeth on the tcase gear the pickup is reading . How much is the cable these days? Personally I'm not a big fan of doing...

What's in it for PS fluid?

    M1031 Build

Looking good! I dig the light bar. Mine is very close to your setup and the driveshafts are butter smooth up to the top speed. Best investments...overdrive and crossover steering. Well and the AC too.

    What maintenance to do first?

Take your book and throw it out. It isn't applicable in the real world unless you are using it for a teardown procedure or wiring diagram. As suggested....do all of the above. Figure out what budget you have here and start with the most important stuff. Injection Pump/Lift Pump/New Filter or...

    Gear Vendors Overdrive

This is the exact reason I didn't go with an NV4500 when I did my overdrive swap. I didn't want to have the wide ratio spread with the gutless engine. I am not a big fan of the gear vendors overdrive for a lot of reasons. Mostly because it isn't a deep enough overdrive that you need with the...

    GEN 1 Overcharging

I would think if the fuse is blowing with the correct voltage you have a short circuit. Or something causing a severe draw to the point of blowing the fuse.

    M1009 rear axle lawsuit

Point 1 Wait you are advocating that because an engineer came up with it that it must be fine? 🍿 Point 2 Everything fails at some point. Difference is with a real axle when it fails the wheel stays on and you get towed home. With a junk axle it ejects the wheel/brake/remaining shaft possibly...

    Charging issue 1986 m1009

Wouldn't two fully charged 12v batteries give you 12.8v x2 = 25.6v which is close to what you have🤷

Where to get Flywheel for 6.2 Cucv

I would guess the pinion clearance is not being checked. I'm guilty just as anyone else for not measuring it. Stick whatever shim that was in there. But if it's "eating" starters this would be the first thing I look at.

    84 M1009 Rear Diff Issues

Find a new shop... Even rebuilding what you have shouldn't cost more then a grand, maybe $1500 if you get a real diff. A used 10 bolt is practically free because no one wants them and maybe a few hours labor to swap. You are being swindled by a lot. You should go back and maybe punch them in...

    Need Seal Part Number

Always Dana Spicer u-joints...just sayin. Be sure to check the bushing in the tailshaft. If it's beat up the new one will leak again.

    Electric Gremlins (No Power)

Basically look at everything that has been cut and spliced into. Remove it, reconnect wires to where they were from the factory. Go from there. If it's cut up really badly I'm sure you can get a harness form someone. I've got a used one laying around for an M1010. There are plenty of rust...
