Transmission shops.these days are.mostly in buisness because front wheel.drive transmission cant hold up to v6 power...or they come defective from factory ( honda oddesy)...
Well the truck just hit 86,000 miles...i have had a number of 300,000+ mile automatic volvos none of which ever gave me transmission issues..all my other cars are manual trans. Ive actually never ended up with a leaking transmission till the cucv...and it started 7 years after the initial...
Well they are asking 750 for the reseal and double that for the rebuild...i would.pull it out myself but weather has not been permitting such action ...so me removing the trans is not really an option till the warmer seasons hit....unfortunately. is it commom for the pump seal to leak at its age?
So...my trans is leaking fluid from the front pump seal and or input shaft seal the trans operates normally when fluid os at level...trans shop quoted me 750 to pull it reseal it and install it..my question is what are the thoughts of double8ng the cost to have it rebuild instead of the obvious...
In an effort to produce more heat i changed out my thermostat and "gravity" flushed the heater core...its -10 windchill here so us8ng the garden hise is nit an option....base line temp raised a bit but its not blowing really hot air like id like...anyone here have really " hot" heat? On a side...
I have added extra grounds months ago thinking that would help...installed the new starter and it fired up no problem..went the extra mile and changed the battery posts and terminals after i warmed the truck up a bit
I have a dash mounted digital volt guage so i can easily read the voltage...battery power hasn't ever really been a problem....the dealership want $671 for an oem starter....so ill just keep burning up these junk autozone ones eith lifetime warranties i guess
So yet again my cucv killed anither starter....installed the warrany starter and it failed within a few minutes....less than 1 minute of spread out cranking....is it just my truck that eats these like candy or are they just so cheaply made they dont last? Usually 2 or 3 months has been the...
So pump is installed...all data calls for 2.5 hours...i wonder how it took me twice that time...maybe waiting for gaslet sealer to dry?
...seriously i have a cookie for any8ne who can do that job from start to finish in 2.5 hours...without air tools that is...i hope to never have to do that...
I finally got around to changing the water pump on my m1009 upon removal of the timing plate there appears to be a spring-loaded rod on the gear that drives the fuel distribution pump does this just get pushed back with the timing plate or is there something more to retain it I have not tried to...
Today i parked my truck so I can save it for the upcoming winter weather when I HAVE to drive it...pretty much all repairs have been made and other than cleaning out pizza delivery trash it's pretty much 100%
I didn't even notice the year...i just saw it and looked under the hood and there was a 6.2....
Originally I was looking for a overflow tank for the radiator..that part wasn't the same...ob it was also a suburban
