@Suprman sold me my rebuild kit.

    Irish Spring soap (Rodent Deterrent)

Barn-cats barely fed is the only thing that works for me. They are autonomous rodent killing machines. They even annihilate the pocket gophers. They like to leave their skulls with just the cheek-meat and whiskers on for some reason.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I have seen multiple people including myself report this specific issue after the ECO hubs install. I have been debating tearing all my CTIS hoses and wheel valves off to see if that makes a difference. I have balance beads in my wheels that I installed before the ECO hubs install, but I...

    CTIS

So the quick answer to this is yes, the system will eventually equalize. What will happen though is that during the check cycle, the CTIS controller will see pressure dropping as the higher PSI tires inflate the lower PSI tire and the system will throw a 4 light blink code to indicate the tire...

    CTIS

That might indicate that the vent line itself is plugged, like from mud wasps or something.. Leave that vent line disconnected at the PCU and see if it behaves normally. If so, clogged vent line is likely your issue, newer units just vent right under the kick-panel, probably due to this issue...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I can’t say for sure since I don’t have the Wabco software but I did verify the CTIS gets the updated speed from the data bus, so I would bet the ABS does too if it needs it. In any case since my ECO hub install, it hasn’t thrown any codes.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

In CAT ET just multiply the old PPM setting by 0.5 and your speedo will be good to go. I wouldn’t waste time trying to reset the transmission shift points. I never did it on mine and it figured it out real quick.

    Dunes Report, ECO Hubs

I have the 330HP 3126B motor in there. I wouldn’t worry about not having enough power. Basically you have enough speeds in the transmission that you will just operate at a lower gear to do the same thing. The only time I would worry is if you had a certain off-road scenario you do on a regular...

    Rattle on steady state driving

Sounds exactly like what my truck did. Pretty sure that is the completely normal sound of the gear reduction hubs. Mine did it more or less any time I was holding a set speed above 40, but adding/removing throttle quieted it up. Gear lash was exactly how I thought of it. I rode in another LMTV...

Glad you enjoyed watching them, I certainly enjoyed making them!

    Running temp for an LMTV

My 2003 ran hot and cycled the fan frequently. I pulled the thermostats and tested them and they were opening way hotter than the stamped temperature. New ones from Cat solved the problem. Fan rarely kicks on now and temps are very stable.

I am still getting Google ads even though I purchased an account upgrade. See below screen shot.

Unloading an M1082 - Caging Bolts and other unloading strategies

push adds air, releases the brakes. Pull removes air, which sets the brakes. I can only speak for my auction 1082, One of the caging bolts was missing, but I didn’t need it since the brakes operated fine. It’s a crapshoot with auctions of-course but your trailer looks like it had some things...

Unloading an M1082 - Caging Bolts and other unloading strategies

It’s the same effort to drive to NAPA and get a gladhand adapter as it is to drive to NAPA and buy caging bolts. If he airs up the tank, he still has use of the brakes so if he gets into an“oh crap” moment during unloading, he can have a helper in a safe zone with a string tied to the parking...

Unloading an M1082 - Caging Bolts and other unloading strategies

fill the tank with your air-compressor, pull the parking brake release and roll it off?

Fill Jet A1 into the humvee?

So what additive would you recommend?

    M1087

Do you have a picture of one of these? I’ve never heard of it nor is it mentioned in the TMs that I used when I did my tires. I have a high speed imbalance that I wonder if it could be related.

    Oil Pump (Failure) - 3116, 3126, & C7

For What’s It’s Worth My 2003 LMTV with a 3126B oil pump was staring to show premature wear on the bearing at only 9k miles. The new pump from Cat had a markedly larger bearing on the idler gear….. Glad I swapped it, oil pressure improved.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

picture is worth a thousand words, you are simply ripping all this garbage out and connecting the inner axle to the outer hub.

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

The full weight of the cab is supposed to be borne by the pins circled below in red. The adjustment procedure is to basically completely loosen the cab latch where it attaches to the back of the cab, lower the cab until it is fully resting on the pins, then tighten the top latch bolts, lift the...
