    Vehicle lift and tires

From my experience... Humvee tires look great but suck in every other way. I wouldn't invest again in 16.5 sizing becasue you are limited now to that or some cheapo squiggle mud tires. 5-6" of lift will really need some driveshaft mods as 4" is about as high as you can go before angles and...

    Another 6.5 Turbo Question

Now would be a great time to sling the while thing in your truck. Why not get the 4L80 to go with it? Solve all the problems. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

Pump shut down after battery short

Do yourself a favor, replace the check valve while taking the cover off. Probably wouldnt hurt to turn the fuel screw an 1/8. 1/4 if you are feeling frisky. Both of my CUCV engines went a 1/4 with practically no smoke. Way too low on fueling. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

Pump shut down after battery short

That is strange because in theory if the IP clicks with power applied then fuel should come out of the injection lines if its going into the IP. Sure you coule have a 1 in a million chance the solenoid is clicking but not actually working. The other issue is that the IP is 12v. In theory if the...

    M1031 PTO information

Thanks for posting this. I was looking for a seal kit and the part is TG-GSK-C which you can use to source it anywhere. It looks like one of the biggest factors for the kit is that the PTO is cable shift. Here is a link to the Muncie .pdf parts breakdown...

    Rear Exterior Spare Tire Carrier

Thanks I will say that it has been the longest and most painful mod trying to make a factory looking tire carrier with an oem bumper. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

    leece neville alternator wriring

Jam a pair of 555JHO's in series. Plenty of power and both 12/24 capability for a fraction of the price of most other options. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

    leece neville alternator wriring

Probably needs an external voltage regulator. Get onto Leece Neville or what is now Prestolite website and find the model. There should be a parts list and wiring diagram. My suggestion is probably scrap it and find something new that is supported. Think common over the road unit. Sent from my...

    Rear Exterior Spare Tire Carrier

I'm sorry, didnt see your question until now. It's a standard non-Blazer CUCV bumper. I wanted the Suburban to match my M1031 so it has the same bumpers and brush guard. In hind sight it would have been better to just fab a whole new bumper and carrier but looks were more important. I feel...

Bearing / rear pinion seal question.

Install a Kraco and hope it cancels the noise out. As far as the wife...pay someone to break in your home, scare them off with a firearm...boom all the ammo you want. You're welcome!!! That sounds like engine related. If you cant narrow it down you may end up pulling drivebelts or unbolting...

Bearing / rear pinion seal question.

Blazer or pickup variant? 10 bolt and 14 bolt are way different? Speed variant makes me believe its driveline and not engine. When holding a speed, get on and off the gas. If the putch changes with the engine you are looking at PS pump, alternator bearings, transmission oil pump. If the whine...

M1008 cracked head gaskets, runs fine, fix? Or engine swap?

Temp gauge? My trucks came with a speedo and fuel gauge and you are lucky if one of them reads close to right. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

M1008 cracked head gaskets, runs fine, fix? Or engine swap?

$10k is a lot for a CUCV. My expectation is turn key, rust free, 8 out of 10 minimum in all areas. Fixer uppers are like $3-5 on average. I think you are on the wrong side on the money. Just be aware that anything you spend most likely you wont be recouped selling. You also wont get any...

M1008 cracked head gaskets, runs fine, fix? Or engine swap?

Big picture... Do you like and want to keep it? How much did you buy it for? Getting the 6.2 repaired as long as its on the top end probably is worth salvaging even at $150 an hour shop rate. Replacing the engine with a good reman unit could be the cost of the truck but will give you...

    Carolina1010's official ramblings thread.....

Jam a pair of Leece Neville 555JHO's in there ;) My ambulance had like 3k miles on it. My M1031 had 6k and the gennie had 3 hours on the Hobbs. Thank you Uncle Sam for selling this to me for pennies in the dollar! Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

    37x 12.50R 17 tire upgrade on CUCV

I use 4" loft springs that ORD sells which I think are Tuff Country? I had the Goodyear MTs on a wide rim which I think came off of a Ford. They are the widest and most offset that probably ever came from the factory for a 16.5" rim.. You will need to trim unless you have stiff springs and dont...

Welding it is certainly easier. I also did mine while the nose was off during the engine swap. Now that makes it easy! Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk
