    Winch install

Thanks I dont have a build thread. Basically took a universal winch tray, flipped it upsode down, then welded it on top of the frame rails. It lines up perfect behind the license plate. You will have to mock it up left to right to get it right in the center of the plate. Sent from my SM-T380...

    Winch install

Covers too much of the grille. Mine is tucked behind the license plate which comes off. Plus it is less leverage on the frame. Gonna have to zoom pretty hard to spot it... Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

    Electrical system overview

Do you have an understanding of basic electricity? If not, I would pick up a basic automotive instruction book or start combing through through the YouTubes to understand how the principles work. When you have the basics of volts, amps, ohms, then figure out how to read a basic wiring diagram...

    37x 12.50R 17 tire upgrade on CUCV

Gotcha Mine arent the custom ones. I'm pretty sure the axle location is stock. I had a solid axle Toyota and I think the suspension was like 3 or 4" forwards. Its the only way to keep big tires out of the sheetmetal. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

    37x 12.50R 17 tire upgrade on CUCV

What are they selling these days? I bought my front springs a few years ago. Think they were Tuff Country. Factory replacements but no idea where the center pin sits in relation to OEM. I think he also sells Alcans? I would assume those are pushed forwards. My Burb has his 4" front springs...

    Glow Plug 12 Volt Conversion

Yes, the resistor is made to work with a properly functioning setup. Plugs failing can make the situation worse. Eliminating the resistor and going straight to 12v on the GP solenoid really has no downside other then loading only one battery while they are glowing but there are worse things...

    37x 12.50R 17 tire upgrade on CUCV

Well that's not a spring?!?! Yeah you can buy those, or just redrill the perches which costs free nighty nine. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

    37x 12.50R 17 tire upgrade on CUCV

Is that a thing? I know you could get a custom spring but I've never seen an off the shelf one for a square Chevy. Plenty of Toyota SAS springs are like that but I never saw in for this application unless you did rears up front. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

    37x 12.50R 17 tire upgrade on CUCV

Ouch I fit 37's by just notching the lower rear corner of the fender. Also, the best mod you can do is redrill the front spring perch forward an inch. It does require crossover steering and maybe an extended driveshaft but it eliminates hacking the fender to pieces with 37's. Sent from my...

    Arduino 4L80e controller

The 6L80 has way better ratios. First is way lower and the 2nd overdrive is taller. So Im looking at $3k for a reman NV4500 with the whole install kit from AA. Add clutch pieces and a pedal bracket, that puts another $600 in the mix. Bonus for not having to refit driveshafts. I think the only...

Haha I'm lucky, my girlfriend supports my habits but does say I'm cheating on her with my two mistresses at the shop. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

    Arduino 4L80e controller

While I am sitting on tech support hold to fix junk Briggs and Stratton generators...I'm snooping around in this 6L80. https://vcmstore.com.au/blogs/news/basic-6l80e-6l90e-tuning-guide So it appears you can change spark timing adjustment during all shifts, factory appears to kill 20 degrees...

    Arduino 4L80e controller

I am sure it does, that type of shift strategy was pretty much the standard even back in the day with the single step shifting 4 speeds. I remember doing superchargers on the Toyotas and it had so much bog during shifts, it was the only way to keep the aw4 from exploding with all that power. I...

    Arduino 4L80e controller

Not sure what you are referencing but the 6L80 was meant to work with all the high output V8s. It's good for like 600hp stock. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

    Arduino 4L80e controller

With the cost of an off the shelf 4L80 controller, I would consider a 6L80 instead. Sure itnis more money but why not have a 4:1 first gear and dual overdrives? I am really trying ti convince myself to stick with an NV4500 but that 6 speed sure would make the 6.2 more tolerable in every regard...

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

Uh... you can buy a Duramax with a truck attached to it for that kind of money. [emoji41] Im thinking a forced induction Raylar 8.1 for the same money is the hot ticket. Cant polish a turd. This way you can haul and drag race. As long as there is a fuel stop along the way. Sent from my SM-T380...

La Burrita...🤣🤣🤣 That is priceless! I think long term I want to turn it into a crew cab and maybe a tuned up 4bt if the 6.2 ever goes. But then again I don't have kids yet and my other truck is a nine passenger Suburban. So pipe dream for now. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
