Not really an 'old' thread, they were both started today. That's why I said they should be together. One of the mods will probably eventually merge them.

This video should have been added to your other thread with a video of your truck.... It's poor 'netiquette' to start a new thread for every new picture or video, just add to your existing thread. It is the same truck and same subject after all.
Neat truck, I too thought the engine sounded...
Here's the older round mirrors on the single telescoping arms.... This is what your truck would have had when new in 1952. At Tower Park I found NOS round mirrors and the telescoping arms for my 1952 V-18A/MTQ.... They're not that rare because a lot of different WWII-era vehicles used them.

Thanks! I like those bells, I still remember my disappointment back in the mid-'70s when the garbage trucks first showed up and went 'beep-beep-beep' instead of 'ding-ding-ding'. I hoarded those bells off eBay for a few years (one of my "issues" that the GF tolerates...) but now I have enough...
I finally cleaned the Spinner II's centrifuge bowl at 3,500 miles since installation on my deuce.... The engine oil had become a dark amber, kinda maple syrup-like. I should have taken a picture but there was only a 1/8" thick layer of sludge on the inside walls. It had the consistency of very...
My mom tried as hard as she could to instill that characteristic in me from an early age. She failed.
So, here's what I think of the "Horse Trailer HEMTT"...
My truck does this sometimes.... I believe it is governor flutter or spring vibration, or something along those lines that I consider "normal"..... Quite a few deuces I've seen do this especially when cold.

I definitely agree about the quality of government rebuilds.... but in this case we now know the cause of failure - hydro lock damage.
A few years ago I paid extra for a transfer case that was in a crate with a Tooele rebuild tag and nice clean paint on it.... It didn't work right at all and...
Bjorn has also stated that he quickly flips the air toggle to lock in his front axle when he gets wheel slip back there...
We have some very bouncy slow lanes on the freeways out here... Too many big rigs pounding away at them, so I run my rear tires at 30psi. It eliminated the bounciness and...
Interesting. I have a lock out on my middle axle but I also run my rear tires at 30 psi (fronts at 60) so they do not bounce.... I get a nice smooth ride.

Wow, that sucks but we all make mistakes. I do feel better now that we know the cause..... I didn't like the thought that a chunk of cam could hit me for no reason as I walk around on my pre-trip inspections with the engine idling. You're lucky you've already got another engine, and I'd...
Here's an interesting thread about the VIC-3...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/electrical/25279-vic-3-intercom-system-up-sale.html
The main difference is that the VIC-3 is more modern and supports noise canceling. Good luck getting a working system together, and it would be of dubious legality...
I park my vehicles far enough from the house that if they 'spontaneously combust' it will not burn the place down. Too many stories like this out there. I was helping a buddy swap engines in his van when we heard the next door neighbor start screaming.... We looked over and there was smoke...
There is a thread that has been going for a few years here called "what do you guys look like"...... We are (mostly) not old farts at all...
I think she's for real. I also think we've done nothing rude here to scare her away. I'd like her to come back, tell us how the recovery went, post...
