Don't use muriatic acid on the inside of a gas tank. You may end up with pin hole leaks. I learned this the hard way - luckily on a common gas can, not a tank.

A radiator shop could fix this easily by soldering on a new outlet. They could also do a great job of flushing or rodding-out your radiator. This is a job I would farm out. The damage might have been caused by someone being over-zealous with their hose clamp tightening technique in the past.

X stands for pre-production, usually a test or acceptance vehicle. Sometimes there are a lot of X vehicles made. I have seen both an XM211 and an XM818. They may be made a year or two before the regular M vehicle goes into production. Also sometimes, the vehicle never goes into production...
