    Half Track?

There is nothing cheap or inexpensive about halftracks, my M2 project has been bleeding me dry for 3-4 years now! $3,500 would be a good deal on whats pictured. Winch and bumper are worth $1500 alone, if the rear bed floor is there that is a big $ item. Check the frame over the jack-shaft /...

    New to the family!

Nice looking M135! That is the other GMC I'd like have to go with our M215 & M221. Plenty of info available here on SS, let us know what we can do to help. Karl

    Bobbed halftrack 4x4

The bogie support frame dragged the ground when it was pulled out of the shop. Had to jack it up with blocking to allow enough height to paint the underside. White designed the rear drive train to use standard truck rear axle and hubs, so standard deuce 6 lug 9x20s mounted up easily to both...

    Bobbed halftrack 4x4

With everyone chopping up perfectly good pieces of military history these days, figured I would follow along and save myself some work. Installing tires on the rear jack-shaft, cutting the frame will be much easier than putting the tracks and all those rear suspension parts back on! Sorry...

    M211 / M135 Hy-Tran question

Tim, I'm currently running SAE30 in the M215, have been for the last couple years. The fluid is changed every year in the M215, I'm planning on running the Hy-Tran this year. When I picked up the M221 late last year I put Hy-tran in it to flush out the apparently very old fluid in the tranny...

    M211 / M135 Hy-Tran question

Has any one ran Hy-Tran fluid in their Hydramatics in place of Dexron or motor oil? I have followed all the old posts and debates over the Dexron & SAE30 and understand the pros / cons. Tractor Supply sells their brand of Hy-Tran replacement (International Harvester no long offers the original...

    Halftrack project

The bogie support bracket and rear drive (jack-shaft) are originally bolted to the frame. I did have to replace 3 of the 5 frame cross members that were riveted in. They were reinstalled with bolts. I ended up acquiring a replacement frame and bogie support bracket, the drive train parts are...

    Halftrack project

Halftrack project UPDATE Hello SS, This week marks a turning point in the 2.5 year old halftrack project, actually starting to put it back together! The newly sand blasted and primed frame re-entered the barn to be positioned on blocking over the rebuilt front axle, jack-shaft and bogie...

    Sand blasting question

sand blasting Hello SS, Found a local company that uses portable equipment, blasted the frame and winch bumper $325. Used our track loader to flip the frame over so they could easily blast both sides. Had to work fast to prime the frame before dark, hope to apply a coat or two of OD tomorrow.

    Sand blasting question

Hello SS, What is the going rate to pay someone to sand blast and prime a bare vehicle frame? I have the halftrack frame stripped down to rails and cross members. Had planned to blast it myself, don't really have the time and our weather has been wet and cold to try this outside. Thanks, Karl

going to Coleman's again Friday 12/4

Hey Mike, I could use a new LH running board for the M813, our's had a little issue with a tree! Also check to see if they have any MG trolleys for the M49 ring mount, need one for the Halftrack. I'm sure they have piles of them, pick out a nice one, but don't spend more than $50. Thanks, Karl

    M211 + m146

Hello SS, Used the GMC M221 truck tractor to move the newly aquired M146 trailer around the other day. It will be awhile before time is available to give these much attention, but at least they are safe now. Karl

    M215 dump at work

Hey SS, Found some pictures from earlier this summer of the M215 actually getting dirty. Each load was 4 cu. yds of top soil, top speed was about 30 mph. Job site was about 7 miles away, all back roads so I was able to take it easy on the old girl. Not bad for being 56 yrs old (the truck, not...

    M211 / M135 part needed

Hello SS, I'm looking for a windshield assembly for our new M221 project, outer frame is needed most, inner frames with good glass would be great also. I have found one but it is too far away to justify a road trip and shipping is expensive. Anyone near Virginia / NC / MD / PA have one...
