So you can adjust to the height of the truck. If you have just the cab you can lower it. Have the cargo cover on then you need to raise it so it can be seen 360 degrees.
If you have just the cab it does not need to be any higher than necessary.
There are plenty of deuces out near you find one and go take a look at it, Have the owner show you about the truck, crawl under it. And take a pickup truck with an extended cab (or even a quad cab) to compare sizes. A deuce is not much bigger than either of those trucks.

Give us the pic you have cloudy. Most of us know the colors day, night, sunny, cloudy.
Forgot to mention unless you painting the whole truck your colors will be off slightly with the new colors. Or take the truck to a paint shop and have them match the colors on the truck now.
Are you pulling it empty to get it home? The M332 should only weigh about 3K.

You know Jacks Gov surplus had a few dozen for sale in AZ. Also there is one that pops up on a popular auction site that keeps dropping in price each week.
Only advice I got for you is to keep saving. There was one ex Air Force truck in Baden a couple months ago for 4900. Here in western Pa you will not find that low of a price anymore.
