    cummins swap assistance

Good evening all. I'm going up next week to check out a 12v Cummins motor for a possible swap in to my bobbed deuce. Just putting out a feeler to see if there are any members local to me (Dayton, Ohio) who would be interested in lending a helping hand through the swap since this type of thing is...

No problem! Just a tip, when Chris found mine he took dimensions as far as height and width of a stock springer base and measured them up to mine (with air in them) to make sure they would fit, definitely something to consider before buying new seats and realizing your head is hitting the roof...

GPappy, they were out of a charter bus as I am told and you would be correct they make the ride tremendously better. When I get out in the morning I'll snap a few pictures of how I actually got them installed, used 1/4" steel plates to match the factory holes where the springer was and welded...

    Just an idea about bobbing

Well, unless I'm not exactly understanding what your trying to do. If you could find a way to have the rear of the spring setup supported in a way that it is able to move freely like it would with another axle attached to it then I don't see why it wouldn't work? I was just trying to say if you...

    Just an idea about bobbing

Hmm....well first off I ran this by Gimp and he replied "Here's your sign!" My personal thought on this though, if you're going to brace the back of the tandem that would greatly limit suspension travel on your front axle. You would almost have to add shocks or some type of flexible support to...

Figured I would take a few to throw out some pictures of today's adventure. Broke down 6 395's and my 3 900's and mounted up the new 1400's. After a little learning curve things picked up and really went smooth! Couldn't have done it without Gimp though, so my thanks go out to you again brother...
