    yes to your question . Sounds like you need a diff overhaul . The noise could be bearings or worn gears or both , hard to say until you check , have you drained the diff yet ? check for metal in the oil ?     sounds like a heater core leak , do a pressure test and it should be easy to locate the leak . I would also think about a coolant flush and change once you get the leak fixed .:beer:

    will not fit between the wheel wells Mule is 48" and trailer is 44" between the wheel wells . If you take the box off , you end up with a trailer you could make a nice flatbed for your mule

    I hate to diagnosis something this way , but try this ,Start with the basics , fuel flow , are any of the fuel lines leaking or old and cracked ? IE; loosing prime . The sock in the tank has also been known to give problems . Check to see if you have fuel at the filter , if not lift pump...

    I would go with the CUCV , Deuce is a lot of MV for a first vehicle . AS was said CUCV is basicly a 1984 chevy pickup , check out Mike Morin on FB , he usually has quit a few southern CUCV's up for sale , Hunting for a good MV is half the fun and you came to the right site for info . good luck
