well you have 3 options. either keep the 208, build or buy a 205 but you need to bore out the 205 case to accept the bigger 32 spline (P/N 50-3202) | Advance Adapters or find a 205 that came off a th400 but you wont have as much as a low gear as the 208 only 2.00 vs 2.65. or you can find a np241...
sure the vrv is on the Injection Pump on the left hand side. It has to rubber hoses leading off it one to the vacuum pump and one to the metal line running to the transmission. some times the rubber part on the vrv goes bad if so just remove the rubber block and plug the lines in to the pump...
hmm you sure its the transmission and not the vacuum pump ? nothing is wrong with a HD th400. me and combat jump just rebuilt his in his garage for around 500 to 600 bucks. its very doable if you have time and are willing to try.

also if you can use a ford 208 parts people on pirate would have done it.
