It is an M53, part of the G-259 family with the undercarriage being based on the M48 tank. 155mm gun carrier.

Previous pic is from a hydro that I was at for a couple of years. The pic is during the Flood of 1943, during which the Army was called to help in saving the dam. Many years later, an analysis showed that the dam should have failed during those conditions.

Not the same dam, but the same time frame (and it appears to be the same turbine OEM). And it is MV related now....;-)

The bows were secured via other brackets that are no longer present on your box. It is highly recommended that everyone in this hobby should (needs to?) own a copy of DD"s book!

I too, have run one of my Multifuels "backwards". I was attempting (in vain) to pull out my stuck M818 w/machine shop trailer, and I inadvertently stalled the engine. As I pushed in the clutch, the engine recovered, but was running in reverse. After about 5 seconds, I shut it down and restarted...
