Really?
Why not just look it up in the TM?
As Ferro mentioned, the install of Bjorn's is documented here. As I recall, his was (as usual with everything he does) very well done and well thought out.
The bed could be civi, but I would look at what appears to be data plates on the bed in pics 5 and 6.
As far as the truck, the data plate seems to indicate a M35 w/w. Do you have a better pic of the data plate, particularly the lower right corner where it mentions REO?
Interesting turn...
I have watched these sell (both trailer and truck mounted) anywhere from $600 to over $20,000 in every condition imaginable, all in the last 5 years. Most are in the $8000-$12,000 range. It obviously all depends on who is needing/wanting one at the time.
-Ok, as others have stated these are special bodies mounted to either trucks or trailers.
-I am the "other member" that Rory is referring to as far as the warnings on the hinges; it is NOT fun trying to catch one of the batwings and put it back up by hand!
-The manuals are quite easy to find...
Welcome to the site.
I'm just across the river from Perryville; what town in MO are you from?
There is a guy off of HWY 60 by Poplar Bluff that has a few for sale from time to time...
Yes, on the gassers it was a mechanical bellcrank/linkage arm that ran across the firewall to the starter on the passenger side of the engine.
All of the truck frames that we deal with are heat treated.
As far as the other shifter lever, it operates the REB kit that is on this particular...
The outriggers and other remnants of whatever was on top of the frame rails was added after it's life with the govt. The factory would not have welded (and I use the term "weld" in the loosest sense here, WOW!) anything to the heat treated frame like that.
Looks to be a '53 Studebaker M45...
