    Head Gaskets/Freeze Plugs....It begins

I have pics, but first a write up. To remove the exhaust manifold and turbo together. The water jacket has to be removed first. There is no other way than this. First remove all but 2 top nuts on the exhaust manifold. I left a few threads on the 2 top nuts to have enough to pull the exhaust...

    Head Gaskets/Freeze Plugs....It begins

Worked on it for 5 hours today. Removed the turbo, intake and exhaust manifold, thermostat housing. The bolts that connect the turbo to the exhaust manifold sucked. Broke one bolt completely. The front/right bolt is impossible to get at. The nut was stripped. Had to remove the...

Going to look at M1009, what to look for?

    1. No leaks anywhere! Take it for a test drive, get it hot. When you park it, check under the bell housing to see if there are oil spots...If so you have a bad rear main. Not terribly hard to replace. Research about spider cracking in these motors. 2. Make sure all the electrics work...

    brake system

Little trick I had to learn the hard way...Put a little tool oil inside the air switch. It frees up that diaphram that has been sitting for however many years. Might as well get yourself a turn signal relay too!

First deuce - help with bumper markings

Highly unlikely it was deployed to this conflict. Those that went were usually disposed of there (or as some have observed as a large contract disposal that did not go through GL). I was lucky to find a us customs pre-clearance ticket from Kuwait to USA stamped Operation Iraqi Freedom, yes...

Master Cylinder Vent Line vs Breather

Thanks fellas! Dabtl, I saw your posts on the remote reservoir topic. Excellent ideas! I feel better that I am on the right track with my thinking. I do think the vacuum effect is causing a hard pedal and the brake light not to function. Am I incorrect to think this? Is there a...
