    Numb thumb !!

Seeing as your in IL too, I will graciously take said "thumb offender" off of your hands prior to it being rendered into .50 cal fodder. Just let me know when it would be a good time to pick it up.

Wire rope right lay vs left lay

Very good point, "bridge cable strands" are load carrying elements. You are correct. Referring to "wire rope" as "cable" is a pet peeve of mine. Sorry.

Wire rope right lay vs left lay

"Cables" carry electrical currents. "Wire Rope" or "Rope" carry loads.

Thread title cannot be changed if someone responds to it. Do you have the canvas sides to the trailer? It should be 5 pieces.

Mike is a nice guy, and very helpful! As far as the GL guy at FTL, I can't recall his name at this time, but he was one of the most helpful so far. And I have been to Ft. McCoy!

    Recovering Sarge's SPGRSMD

Just get up on top of the trailer and you will see what I am talking about. You will be able to inspect the hinge material from there. I was able to source some belted 1/8" material to replace the original stuff. The original is not belted.

    Recovering Sarge's SPGRSMD

Those hinges are a tedious chore to replace, as there are 2 million bolts in them. Since the hinges are only rubber, it does not take long for them to begin deteriorating from the sun.

    Recovering Sarge's SPGRSMD

PRIOR to you opening up the sides, inspect the hinges on top!! (ask me how I know) Yours appears to be a few serial numbers away from mine. It should have the 27" South Bend "Tunrnado" in it as well. Nice find! Good to see you get it, as I bowed out early.

    Wrecker Hydraulic issues

There is a "creep test" part of the annual load teat required on all equipment that is to handle ordinance. The point being, it tells you how to diagnose and correct the problem you are speaking of. It is in one of the M809 TM's.
