I do recall the infamous "fourth bolt", but like "stretch" I didn't need to remove any plugs.
Having trouble recalling exactly how I did it, but I think removing the push rod from the brake peddle and getting it out of the picture first had something to do with it...

Perhaps finding someone to trade the 530C for a cargo would be line of attack on this project.
Those fire trucks are relatively rare, and a few people do collect them. Yours looks to be in great condition.

My '67 M35A2 has the same thing, but only the air horns were/are hooked up and working. I tried the electric horn, but it is not functioning.
I never investigated any further.

Almost certain that it will be held again in '09, it has been happening for 20+ years, but he web site for it is still showing the '08 dates.

The wrecker stuff is aluminum cased with brass gears too.
In my humble opinion...
carrying around a snatch block or two would be a much easier solution, opposed to engineering a 5 ton winch on the front.
