Don’t give up on your 805B / 806B yet, the time has come

Is this the weakest link in these sets? I've had no demand for such equipment, and no hands on time.

MEP-1030 Mouse Proofing & MEP-10XX WiFi Remote Start

Yeah, but can I order takeout chinese food over it?

    MEP 002a voltage adjust issue

Most computes have 120/240 (50/60hz) autoswitching transformers built in, so they should accept up to a 10% variation in hertz in stride.

    Choosing a Generator

Light towers make some of the 'dirtiest' power there is historically... because they don't have to make clean power... they are only running light bulbs. I don't see any markings on the head in the photos to determine a make (looks like a few different manufacturers were utilized with this...

    Choosing a Generator

Fuel can be thoroughly pickled with modern additives to store a good amount of time, if air does not get to it. Got any friends with diesel trucks, tractors, etc? If you stored fuel in a drum, it could simply be pumped out and into friends vehicles/equipment on a yearly or biannually basis and...

    Choosing a Generator

Yeah nothing from the factory, but easy to add. You can either add a short lead off the lugs with a female plug (that would accept a standard male end 30A NEMA L14-30 plug) or you can mount a 30A box on the side of the genset... or even hardwire the machine in. All in what works best for you...

    Choosing a Generator

The 802 will take surges to 7KW... the 5kw is a conservative rating.

    Choosing a Generator

I don't believe the Kubota genset is actually prime rated... I think it has a standby rating (and incorrectly uses 'prime' verbiage on their website... not really meaning prime power designation). Also the Kubota has a brushed head, not brushless like the MEPs.

    Choosing a Generator

And in the way of the world... just looked up what a GL7000 goes for these days ($6500+) most sites show the following: " Availability: Backordered until approximately January 2023 " Thats based on no further supply chain issues. Crazy stuff.

    Choosing a Generator

MEPs are designed to be fielded anywhere on Earth as is. You don't have to worry too much where you live, but folks in northern climates should take heed in the winter months to keep ice off the roof and out of the inlets (as it can cause damage, and block the exhaust port from opening under use).

    Farm Diesel

Yeah no issue running dyed stuff in power equipment or tractors. Will be interesting to see if the feds override their own laws in times of national emergency, related to diesel fuel shortages. I don't want to be a betting man, but I just have this bad feeling in the back of my head we might...

MEP-803a voltage drop during monthly test

I have one here to be tested out of a machine. They aren't cheap, thats for certain. Don't actually see a mil spec one for sale anywhere at the moment.

MEP-803a voltage drop during monthly test

Have you tried to adjust the gauge with the small panel fitting at the center, with a screw driver? You might be able to bring the hertz gauge back to reading correctly.

    Fixing up my MEP-803A"

Good find... hope it works when you get around to needing it. Those pumps aren't very reliable, so keep a plan B in the back of your head in case.

Yes to both Kurt. He posted a video in the opening post of this thread FYI.

Could be that the pumps themselves are frozen too, but yeah need to keep moving through the system.

    Shared the knowledge tonight

I've been told directly by someone at Fermont that in NEW engines delivered to them, they drained whatever came in them factory fresh and replaced with standard 15w-40 and sent out the door. The only time break-in was used was on reset engines, or used prior to arriving in CT. Something to...
