how to detect a broken CDR-Valve?

The smoke from the exhaust is not something I find alarming. You only notice it if you drive directly behind it or consciously observe it in the mirror. A classic diesel. You can see when the driver accelerates. Of course I can't check whether my engine had the 2kml on it when I picked it up...

how to detect a broken CDR-Valve?

Is the CDR changed frequently? As part of the maintenance schedule?

how to detect a broken CDR-Valve?

Hello together My rig starts burning oel, i think. Not dramatic but noticeable. I think 1 quart on 1k mils. At the same time, I imagine that I am getting more black smoke from the exhaust when hitting the right pedal. But my air filter is still clean. No oel on it. My motor has only 10k miles...

    Fuel pump keeps failing..

I simply chose the injector that was easiest for me to reach. And I think that's cylinder no. 4. And yes, I only opened one.

    Transfer case shifting and BTM

To be honest, if I hadn't read the manual, I would have handled it in exactly the same way as all the other transfer cases. Especially when I know it's an (NP)242 like everything else I've driven on Jeep, Durango, RAM. So the idea of operating the car as it appears to you is obvious and is no...

    Transfer case shifting and BTM

Ahhh, that's it. Thought you meant a different one. I had already studied this, and others, during the long wait until my truck arrived. It is extensive, yes. And it affects a lot of models. And I would have cut it down to half if necessary. But why is this " dreaded "?

    Transfer case shifting and BTM

Sorry, but I didn't understand that. Is this a joke that I, as a foreign speaker, don't get? Or does this manual really exist? Is it some kind of crash course or HMMWV for dummies? Tryed to google it, but no relevant results.

    Transfer case shifting and BTM

I printed it out for me to read it on my 30min morning job while sitting ;-)

    New member from DE

LOL...You realize again how strongly you are influenced by your own point of view. From my point ov view... DE is germany ;-) I didn't even begin to doubt it. Only the photos made me suspicious. My HMMWV had a DE (Delaware) title that made it eligible for registration in DE (germany)... because...

Hi Craig Nice rig! But these photos are all made in the us... you sayed you located in germany?!

wondering if im bleeding the fuel system correctly M1151A1

I recently had my painful story with the diesel. I would therefore suggest a slightly different approach. Go the way of the diesel ;-) And continue from the tank. Unscrew the outlet of the lift pump and see if it delivers at all. If nothing comes out of there, the lift pump may already be bad...

How does dual switch brake pedal work ?

One is the switch for the brake light and the other is the switch that tells the transmission controller that the brake is applied. Synchronizing both is a nightmare cause of short pedal travel of the HMMWV! I have therefore switched the Siganl for the transmission control unit via a relay. I...

    Top speed

This is ridiculous, stupid and unreasonable... I'm in! roughly estimated, just under 80mph. RPM at 3500 with new tires in stock dimension, 6.5 non turbo. But you ca feel that the engine dont want to spin so high!

    Fuel pump keeps failing..

Sounds like air in the system. Next time bleed the system by open up a incejtor (19mm wrench) and loosen the injector inlet. When the diesel is flowing out of the open inlet, close it again, Air is gone.

    Fuel pump keeps failing..

Ohh Dear, that topic follows me me ;-) You sayed at the time you changed your lift pump you had to clean the filter too. And there was water and debree in it. That let me assume that all this water and debree must be came out of the tank ;-) And now you was running low on fuel, maybe you cleand...

    air in fuel issues

Here is my final report. You wrote about a "pin" that connects the camshaft and pump arm. When I took off the plate, it came towards me. Had expected something in the dimensions of a cigarette. But this is a cigar! This is a full grown bolt ;-) How I could have missed this fat bolt during the...

Anyone commit sacrilege and weld 16.5 inch rims to convert to 17 inch rims?

This does not have to have its cause in the rim. It can also be caused by distance plates (dont knw how you call it in the states). Only as a supplement to my very negative attitude before. You can very well build rims or have them built. But this needs special machines and knowledge. This is...

    M1123 transmission

I had that too. But luckily mine had a trans-light. And this always stayed off with me. Can also be with you so, because you do not see it. But you could measure it with a multimeter. Whether the multimeter shows 0V or 24V or the lamp is lit does not matter. 24V are 24V! My first tip would be to...

Anyone commit sacrilege and weld 16.5 inch rims to convert to 17 inch rims?

There is hardly anything left to add here. Except for the following... it will need machine support that goes beyond a simple MIG. A lathe of appropriate size is the minimum. And also quite a decent knowledge of welding. Personally, I've been welding for a long time and I don't think I'm stupid...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Nice, something new learned.. thx! I did not imply that either. Here it is sometimes common to wear Hawaiian shirts on Fridays. Depending on the company and the degree of mental relaxation ;-) And this is sometimes the Hawaii shirts Friday. And so I assumed there would be just this random falg day.
