    251 marine engine

RE: Re: RE: 251 marine engine The crank may in fact run either way, but the cam, no way. I am in no way a marine engine expert, (I just play one on tv) but I do collect antique engines. That engine may run forward I duno? Just saying check and find out!

    251 marine engine

One thing to verify, I know that the marine version Chrysler 440 runs backwards compared to the automotive version. You may end up with 4 gears back wards and one forward

    Picked up my first Jeep

Well, here it is. CJ2a serial # 44249 so that makes it a mid year '46. I will post a photo of the new tub when I pick it up. It is going to take a bit of wrenchin and such but it will be a driver and it is all a labor of love

    Ignition troubles

Now this was VERY unusual for the M37, but it wouldn't start. And when it did, it was missing on at least one cylinder of the six and ran very poorly. I just couldn't figure it out, the plugs are new, spark was strong (when I could get it to run). I thought maybe the timing was off a bit...

    Slave receptical any one?

I think I have found a seller who has what I need. The one he sells has a hot wire that is 50" and ground 35". The TM says the hot lead bolts on to the hot post of the starter switch, not to the battery. (remember, it is a foot pedal start) I will let the other seller know though that this...

    Slave receptical any one?

Any one installed a slave receptical on an M37? I removed the cover plate and pulled a rat's nest out. The rubber gromet is installed for the wires to go thru on the other side. My receptical I bought will need some jerry rigging, I don't think it was ontended to go on the M37, maybe an M38A1...

    Picked up my first Jeep

Well, it is not an MB, :( but we can't have everything. It is a '47 CJ-2a as far as I know. (date on windshield galss) I will post some photos after the weekend. I can say that the tub is rusted out/patched but I bought a replacement tub that did come off a '44 MB so it shouldn't look too...

Pointers on drill bit sharpening, pls

Has any one heard of Rodman drill bits? I saw a demonstration at a trade show and the fellow had about a 3/8" bit in a drill press and drilled 5 or 6 holes into a high-carbon steel file then several holes into a ceramic tile and then into a 2x4 twisting it left & right to show the bit when hot...

    Hehehehehe...it begins...

Re: RE: Hehehehehe...it begins... No matter how bad you think you have it, there is always some one who has it worse out there. Just makes you appreciate the space you have and you use every square inch of it! Believe it or not there is a piano back in there I am refinishing for my daughter...

    11.00-16 Tubes and flaps

Got my Michelin 11.00-16's mounted. I love them. Did wonders for RPM's at 45-50 MPH. Plus they look great on this truck. I can tell a difference in the slower take off speed, but well worth the lower RPM's. And hey, look! The water marks look good on the photos I uploaded!

    11.00-16 Tubes and flaps

I think I am going to do the 24087. I will do this after mounting though due to chip hazards of install. I can just lay the tire flat and paint. I will do the inside of the rim prior to install, but outside after. Can't wait to get it done!

    11.00-16 Tubes and flaps

Ok, got new 11.00-16 tubes for split rims form Int'l Tire & Tube. http://www.innertubes.net/catalog/ (Thanks Gimp) Their part number for this 11.00-16 radial tube with steel valve stem is 11425 and at a cost of $22.82 ea. The only catch is that the valve stem is a little longer than what is...

I think I need an M1008, any advise?

Now that is what I like to hear. Sooo... I guess this truck was an absolute steal: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260142329609

I think I need an M1008, any advise?

I see, well that is why I asked. Ask and you shall recieve. The sound is no problem, I have been traveling with nothing other than a converter for the last three years. I have had no working AC for quite some time and the water bypass hose on my intake manifold is jerry rigged as such that I...

I think I need an M1008, any advise?

Well, the last green stuff I hauled was the M37 from BigBee's house. I use the trailer regularly to haul my old hit & miss engines to and from shows and I am going to build a custom trailer to pull the M37 with. So I typically pull 4 to 10k lbs with the truck.

    Timkens On TheTop?

CGarbee~ Thanks for the photo link. I had bought new axle seals and tie rod ends, idler arm etc.. from AB Linn and now I feel brave enough to go ahead with the rebuild. I just need to get some Timkens and I am set.

I think I need an M1008, any advise?

My old worn out '90 Ford F250 is running rough. I think it needs a new injector, it has 160k miles on the 351w and the timing chain cover leaks oil to the rate of 1qt per 100 miles. (My reason for not changing the injector, I don't want to become a grease monkey)) My reason for having the...

    Pictures from VietNam, 1968.

RE: More pictures. 1968 Nice pics of the Seabee truck markings. Just verifies the markings I put on my truck are at least authentic to 1968. Also proves I wasn't full of it when I said right side Seabee is also left facing. No right facing logos.
