Yea, he's right. finally figured it out. 12.7 to the pivot point on the boom. so measure from the ground to the boom pivot and add 12.7. That assumes 18ft boom extension with a 45 degree angle to the ground.

well its a right triangle, so we know all three angles and one side length. I thought about it for a long time, but that trig has been un-used for a few to many years.
