    M756A2 pipeline construction vehicle

Recovry4x4, or anyone else. Has anyone made careful measurements of the pipeline truck rigging? I am planning on purchasing, and/or fabricating the complete rigging kit for my pipeline truck so that I can put it to work soon. Also, does anyone have a link to a TM that covers towing, and...

    Winch Shear Pins

Pot metal is mostly zinc, and has a low shear strength, so it might explain why some people on this thread found their NOS shear pins were breaking too easily. Otherwise, in a pinch a brass bolt sounds like a reasonable option. Some of you might find the Engineer's Toolbox useful for finding...

    "Inventing" a "New Multi-Fuel Engine"

From running DIY diesel fuels on 2 different diesel engines in 12 years of research, it looks like any diesel engine can run almost any fuel, as long as that fuel meets the basic spec of a specific gravity of .850. I find as long as my fuel blend is .850sg it will burn like normal diesel fuel...

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

I have been experimenting with WMO for 11 years. My findings are WMO has 3 basic problems: 1] It has a massive amount of dissolved and suspended solids. 2] Some of those suspended solids are sub-micron carbon, which I have found deposited also on the fine machine parts of the injector nozzle...

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

Good question, gimpyrobb. Part of my goal here is to find a diesel engine that will truly burn multiple fuels; and Germany's goal was surely being able to acquire fuel along the way through their attempt to conquer Europe in the early 20th century. So, if we document these problems and...

    Injector Pop-Tester Adapter for Deuce

I agree with Rusty. My Indian injector pop tester only lasted a few years, and only a few sets of injector pop tests. I suspect the problem with my first pop tester was possibly because I used ULSD diesel fuel as the test medium. Since ULSD has xylene in it at 10%, and I found that it does...

    servicing deuce injectors

Thanks, Rusty. Is there a thread here on adjusting the multifuel IP externally?

    Injector Pop-Tester Adapter for Deuce

I ordered the adapter for the multifuel injectors available from Tubes and Hoses in Colorado. The adapter was inexpensive, and arrived promptly. Thanks to Menaces Nemesis.

    servicing deuce injectors

I ordered a set of 6 injectors from TaylorTradingCo, as reported upthread. They arrived promptly, in good condition, and properly packed for shipment in their original boxes. I installed them in my 1969 M756A2 and found they did not solve the cold starting problem of my multifuel engine. So...

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

If I had access to hydraulic oil and ATF, then I would not bother with WVO and WMO; however, I have people all of the time giving me WVO and WMO but no hydraulic oil and ATF. So, I stick with these available sources. I ran my 6.2L for 11 years on WVO at 80% blended with gasoline at 20%. Over...

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

Next I have a series of photos here of the inside of my M756A2 fuel tank. The fuel tank is zinc coated, which is good in the case of vegetable oil-petroleum-based fuel blends, because zinc is electrolytically active in chemistry. It is common in chemistry to use zinc as an aid in forcing...

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

Here are photos of an unused Parker fuel pump for the Bradly. This is how I received it. The Bradly flange will either have to be modified or replaced. Since I have 2 dead NOS deuce fuel pumps, then I plan to just remove the Parker Bradly mounting frame and flange, and install the NOS...

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

I was asked to upload photos of my problems and solutions to this thread. Here are the photos of the original fuel pump that came with my M756A2. The rust color on the pump frame is actually gum. It can be either scraped off or lacquer thinner will remove it. Gasoline with alcohol in it...

Machine cooling and cutting oils can these be used with proper filtration?

You really do not want to leave a gasoline-based fuel blend sitting around, unless it is in a pressurized fuel tank, which is what my blending tank is all about. You are right on. My final filter is 1-micron. Also, a centrifuge can be used to remove smaller particles. Metals are very dense...

Machine cooling and cutting oils can these be used with proper filtration?

I have used machining coolants; both oil-based and water-based. They both work as long as you keep in mind that the water-based machining coolants are generally emulsions of water and oil. I find adding gasoline at 20% to any waste oil will break any emulsions that might be in the oil...

    Biodiesel

Thank-you, Chainbreaker for posting a very useful article. The above issues, and especially the above photo, suggest that biodiesel has the same problems of engine sludging that WVO-based fuel blends, as well as heated two-tank SVO systems, have been found to have. I propose that this is...

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

Sorry that it has taken me so long to get to inspecting the Parker pump. I removed the wire cage around the pump head. The cage is clearly plastic. The pump head might be plastic, but it could be pot metal. It is gray, like pot metal. But, it has a plastic-like feel to it. I plan to...

    servicing deuce injectors

Ordered. By the way, silicon bronze, or brass washers will not work, because they are too hard. Only copper washers should be used for sealing the injectors.

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

I ordered a Parker Bradly fuel pump, on frank8003's recommendation. It is expected to arrive Thursday. I will inspect it, and if the pump head is indeed plastic, then it should work. I will immerse it in my DIY fuel for a week and see if it still works.

Problems running WVO on the multifuel engine

That's useful. Thanks, gimpyrobb. However, I read through the pdf, but found no reference to the material of construction for the pump head.
