    Why 2650rpm max?

And nobody seemed to remember that it was built by the lowest bidder! Or that long stroke engines inherently have a lower max RPM. There are marine diesels out there that have a red-line of 60 RPM. And the cross section of the crown of that piston is way smaller than it is through the rod...

    1941 Ford f15a CMP

Cool little truck. Good save, and good luck. I dont think the MB auto diesel is quite the way to go though. Wasnt meant for that type of service. May I ask you to considder a Cummins 4bt, parts are common, fairly(for a diesel) inexpensive, and quite durable.

    Oshkosh rebuild?

They are really easy to deal with. I have an M813a1 I got from them. I am happy with the work they performed, and with the truck over all. My reason for buying from them, as opposed to GL was the time involved in what they were doing. I am capable and accredited to perform the work, but I...

    120lbs of Kitty Litter

We have here in the archives a book some of us should look through(it has some good pictures) One I was required to be familiar with when I still wore Garbage Green. FM5-125 -Rigging. If you dig a little hole, and bury a log or two, it makes a pretty good anchor. But seriously, If you go...

    air connection

There was a hose issued in the toolkit that screw onto the fitting, and the valve is right there. I am going to put a regulator and a quick connect on mine, so i dont have to worry about over inflation

    air connection

Just correcting myself. There is an air port for tire inflation on mine, it is on the drivers side, on the firewall near the left side cowl. Now I just have to put a regulator and a quick-connect on it and away we go.

    Speedometer error - cause?

Speedometers in North America are calibrated to read 60 MPH at 1000 rpm on the speedo cable. They are driven by magnets, and controlled with springs, the older analog ones anyway. We wont get into digital today. There is a tiny screw on it somewhere with which it can be calibrated. First...
