Not in my experience drivin mine. Maybe a loaded down truck is different, but I was really barely using the brakes. Keep in mind though that I was leaving tons of distance in front of me to where I was aimed.
I was concerned about the brakes too, but kenny talked me through the whole operation of the truck. Those guys are great.
The truck has so much engine brake that you are in the throttle going down the hills.
Well, I made it. Left my house at about 6am and got to Kublos at 10. The truck was ready for me when I got there. We were on the road again by 11.
It took a little to get used to driving the truck, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Dropped the rental car off about 20 miles from Kublos...
Basic non winch m35a2 truck starts at $4500, and the price goes up from there. The newer cargo bed trucks were $8K and there were a couple of dump set up deuces approaching $9-10K I believe.
And finally, my route for Friday, in case I break down!
Basically, I am driving 17E to 84E for my return trip. I am dropping the rental in Binghamton, my copilot is hopping in, and we are continuing our journey. From noon onward, however long it takes. Hopefully the heater works!
Hello all.
The time has finally come and I am super excited. On Friday I drive out to Kublos to pick up my M35a2. It is a 1971 AM General, that Kenny is also putting a winch on for me.
I have been looking for several months, to locate a clean, rot free m35a2. I looked at a half dozen here...
I think plenty of us have looked into this and come up empty. If you would be so kind to bestow your knowledge upon us, without being condescending, we would appreciate it.
I think that what many fail to realize, when flaming people for posting "previously asked threads" is that if those questions aren't asked again, in some capacity, then the forum will never have any new threads!
And the original poster is right. Yes, the question may have been asked before, but...
I bought one of those 24V regs. It was a Libby regulator, 84-13183; I have it in my purchase history. Libby Power Systems Regulator Battery Charging 84-13183. However, I am unable to find any for sale on the web currently.
I have a similar issue.
The throttle knob does not have enough tension in it to keep it from spinning on its own by the vibrations of the unit. Is there an adjustment on that, to make it have more resistance, to keep from turning on its own?
I got my MEP-701a from a guy in Vermont, who liquidates military items. At the time I bought mine, I believe he also had the 002/003's. For reference, I paid $1000 for my geny.
I can probably find the guys name/number/info if you are interested.
It is two brand new (i assume with recycled materials) 12V tractor batteries in series. Would that make a difference at all as to the voltage draw to it?
Ok, thanks for the help. That does shed some light on it. I should just ignore the voltage associated with L3. I take it as it is acting as a internal ground for some reason, but is not a neutral like L0.
I am going to do some tests and see what can be determined. L0, 1 and 2 all have full...
And in this thread, you can see there is zero voltage across 2 and 3, where as I have 120.

since my original post disappeared, again, here is what I have for readings;
V1-0 120
V2-0 120
V3-0 0
V1-2 240
V2-3 120...
