    Split brake system

The pinion brake is interesting. I wonder if you could integrate that with the existing e brake and have the driveline brake too. I wonder how much braking you would really get with that mounted to the front axle. I guess the question becomes, do you want a better e brake, or build in the...

    Split brake system

I have been mulling over possibly installing a split brake system on my truck. I am intrigued by the hydraulic fuse that is mentioned in this thread. They are used in aircrafts and forklifts, I've discovered thru internet research. It could be an easier answer compared to modifying to a...

    do you call AAA

If you have haggerty insurance and have their 30 $ plus package, they will tow it for free up to 10 miles and will do the roadside assistance stuff.

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Leaks leaks leaks everywhere. Rather then try to fix the stuff and freeze my butt off I'll post my questions on the forum It is a toasty 20f today. I took the truck to run some errands, but first warmed it up in the driveway. Immediately, its leakin fuel and antifreeze from the engine area. I...

Filters and adapters came in today. I'm gonna grab some oil this week to do the change, and hopefully swap them in this weekend.

Good to hear! Mine will be here next week. I also just ordered a isspro turbocator boost/egr gauge, so I have that to install when it comes in as well.

I figure it is bigger than the moroso and dynamax, but smaller than the Donaldson or walker. Hopefully, a compromise between noise level and size.

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Excellent, thank you for the info! The3535xl looks like the hot ticket for me. I will make it fit somehow, with the longer length and the resonator. I am going to be driving this truck regularly, with my family, so it needs to have a good compromise on the quiet level. I'll have to customize...

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

I've read quite a bit about the walker, dynamax, and Donaldson. I haven't even seen any posts about the aeroturbine. Any additional info on it or the model?

I do plan on turning up the fuel. Egt's will be a problem with the walker?

Put a replacement cold start pump on yesterday, and no leaks now. I did have to remove and track down a couple of leaks on tje 395s. Not fun doing it twice, but that's the risk you take with used wheels. I ordered a spin on oil filter kit today. Also trying to decide on which muffler to...

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Kenny sent me a replacement cold start pump, I haven't installed it yet. At the moment it isn't leaking, so once that is installed I will be good to go. To countetsink, I used a single flute 1 1 /2" countersink on a bridgeport. I did all the wheels so that I can freely rotate then.

Got the wheels on today, again by myself. Actually, my son was there to hide hardware on me. Had some leakers, attributed to faulty hardware or the beadlock wasn't tight enough. Thank goodness for that harbor freight impact wrench. My compressor certainly got a work out. Ill get the...

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

I mounted the tires onto the wheels today. It took about 6 hours to do all 6 by myself. Before I even had the truck, I did a lot of research on wheels and tires, and what the best bang for my buck would be. I considered the recentered wheels, mrap's and a3 wheels. I couldn't even find...

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Ventured out this morning in attempt to go to the DMV. The pump was still leaking, out of a weap hole. The pump is bad. So I bypassed it, and off I went once again. I got to the DMV, where I was required to get a VIN inspection. Not a whole truck inspection, but only a vin verification...

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

I drove the truck into work yesterday. Upon closer inspection I discovered it was more than slobber from the slobber tube. The slobber tube did puke oil on my recovery voyage, but I also had a fuel leak from the cold start pump. I took the pump off today but in doing so bent a copper fitting...
