What are you going to do for soundproofing? I have read quite a few threads on here but have not decided which route to take myself.

Have you taken it up to highway speeds? That's where the difference really showed concerning the sound reduction and the muffler for me.

I kinda felt that way too after I put mine on. But I came to realize that there are way to many other sources of noise from these things. The exhaust is just one of many sound makers. Im sure it still sounds like a deuce. I have the d turbo and consider just getting the c to be distinct deuce...

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

I sort of agree with that statement. With the bigger 395's, it cruises along relatively comfortably at 55 mph. 55 mph is about 2200 or 2300 rpm now. 60 is kinda pushing it, as far as the braking capabilities are concerned, and the general comfortable feel of the truck. I agree with that...

From another thread here I received this advice from Clinto, concerning the pinion flange pitting or using a sleeve.... ..... let a machine shop polish the flange and if the groove didn't come out, let them turn the flange down slightly and use a different pinion seal with a slightly smaller...

Which muffler did you go with?

Replacing input/output shaft seals on transfercase, any pointers?

Great. Thank you for the info Clinto.

Replacing input/output shaft seals on transfercase, any pointers?

Did you ever identify which speedi sleeve is needed for the pinion/yoke?

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Took the opportunity to drive the truck into work today. 25 miles, half of it highway speeds. I haven't really had the opportunity to play with the tire pressures, and subsequently still find that the truck starts to bounce the rear end on the highway. It really depends on the road harmonics...

    Anyone familar with Kublos Surplus?

The truck with the tarp in front of it or the winch truck? Both of those were pretty clean and I looked at them for a while. I ended up with a non winch truck and had them add the winch.

    Anyone familar with Kublos Surplus?

I bought my truck from them in December of last year. Great guys to deal with, and they stand behind their work. Give them a call, either ken is great to chat with. Check out my thread in here to read my experience. Its in the Deuce hot rod section. Ill attach some pics of the yard for...

    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

Im just holding out for warm weather. When it is above 30 f, mine fires up a lot easier. To further expand on the heater, it leaks onto the turbo when using it, holding the switch when cranking. It doesn't just leak in idle operation. It leaks like that when the flame isn't lit, and it goes...

    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

Yes it won't hurt anything to eliminate it. I had mine plugged for a while when the pump leaked. Some people swear by them, but I find it to be problem prone. For mine, im not sure if the flame works. Subsequently, fuel dumps out of the valve above the turbo, down into the turbo housing...

    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

Its the manifold flame heater. It sucks, I personally don't use mine. It just dumps fuel on the top of the turbo. I replaced the pump portion too as that was leaking. I might delete mine all together.

How new are your batteries? Mine isn't too eager to start when it is 20 degrees. I have to crank for a bit in intervals for it to fire. Since I only have dual 650 batteries, that equates to about 30 seconds of cranking below freezing until not enough power to do so. In summary, sounds...

The best lockout hubs for a Deuce

If anyone has a used set of lockout sitting around, plus a single third unit for the rear, pm me as I'd be interested in purchasing.

Nice! Your to do list looks something like mine. I wish I could get cheap parts, any parts for that matter, locally. Looks like a real nice truck. Congrats.

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Mine came in this weekend. Its a 4". Is yours the 3.5"? I scoured eBay before I bought mine and didn't see any besides from Australia. I have all the rest of the components, I am going to index them and have someone with welding skills (not me) finish it up.
