    Would you buy it?

Funny thing happened this weekend, the guy called and sent me a million texts. He's desperate to sell, and I could have probably given him $1000 and taken it home. But it's not an MB, so why not wait for the real thing? And on top of that the federal government called me on Friday morning and...

Anyway to restore faded data plates?

Does anyone have any tips for restoring the sun-bleached data plates on trailers? They are all practically white, but under the right light I can sometimes make out what is etched on them. The only thing stamped is the serial number and vehicle type. Any ideas?

    Would you buy it?

No other pictures. Well, that sucks. I guess I'll just keep waiting to stumble onto a real MB to restore.

    Would you buy it?

SETOYOTA is right ... the gas filler neck on the side of the tub gives it away. Derp. Oh, and the CJ gauges...

    Would you buy it?

    So it's a CJ, eh? I wonder why the seller thinks it's a 1943?

    Would you buy it?

I'm looking at a 1943 Willys MB that's local to me. The body is actually pretty solid from the couple pictures I was sent by the seller. He said the hood isn't in the best shape but there aren't any holes in the body. He said he's pretty sure the frame is the same. It has aftermarket wheels and...

    Source for bullet connector insulators?

I saw that AFTER I ordered. Oh well, they're pretty expensive and with one 10 pack of connectors I can re-do my M116A3 harness, my best friend's M101A1 harness and make one for my dad for his M105. :) I have some basic experience working on vehicles, I have done repairs on our delivery...

    Source for bullet connector insulators?

I guess you're right since the taillights on the deuce are the same. What I'm going to do is paint the connectors 4 different colors on the trailer harness, the 12 pin harness and the 4-pin harness I make for his truck. That way it's easy to swap between pulling the M105 with the deuce or his...

    Source for bullet connector insulators?

Awesome, thanks! ETA - For anyone else, those are the male connectors. You need female to make a harness to plug into the trailer harness. They're the same price: Rubber Shell Connectors (qty 10) MS27144-1

    Source for bullet connector insulators?

Does anyone know where to find the big rubber insulators that go over the bullet connectors on M10X series trailers? I don't want to splice any wires, so I made a 4-pin flat harness out of wire and bullet connectors to plug into the wires at the tongue of my M103. I would like to find the big...

    Headlights

All of the above is wholly dependent on your state laws. As far as I know the state of Florida does not have such laws governing the wattage of headlight bulbs. I will have to look.

Can I swap in 3/4T HD springs into my M1009?

Probably, but you will hate life driving that short wheel base with those springs. I know this because I put 1 ton springs on my RamCharger once....

    Redneck Frame machine

When I was a teenager I crash tested the rear end of a Jeep Cherokee with my '91 Buick Regal. I think because I was considering buying one and wanted to show my parents how they handled impacts? Anyway, I bent the core support inwards on my Buick. My dad and I pulled it back out with a comealong...

M101 Recovery in Anniston, AL. The worst trip ever.

Here's the new pictures I took today. [thumbzup] http://www.steelsoldiers.com/trailers/71198-so-what-exactly-did-i-win-2.html#post874852

So ... what exactly did I win?

And here are the new pictures. I unplugged the 12 pin military plug, wired myself a 4-pin flat connector and plugged it in. Swapped the marker bulbs with 97s and the turn signal/brake bulbs with 1156s. The surge brakes stop my Jeep better than it stops itself without a trailer. :-D It's an...

So ... what exactly did I win?

I was going to bid on those trailers but we decided we wanted to go to the CMP so we bid on the Anniston trailers instead.

M101 Recovery in Anniston, AL. The worst trip ever.

In all honesty I had fun even though we had so many problems. We got two AWESOME trailers for peanuts (mine was $275, his was $390) and we took a couple day road trip. Plus the CMP South Store was awesome by itself. I'll post some pictures of my trailer today.
