Help identifying a Willys Jeep W/Pics.

The engine is not original. Also where the turn signal lights were are covered up with small metal pieces that were RTV'd in place.

Help identifying a Willys Jeep W/Pics.

It had where something like the data plate was on the firewall on the passenger side, but that is missing also. So it looks like the general consensus is that it is "probably" a CJ-2A Jeep with a M38/CJ-3B Windshield? Thanks a bunch.

Help identifying a Willys Jeep W/Pics.

The shop that is welding in the floor pans on my CUCV had a guy drop off this jeep to have the body work/restoration stuff done. They aren't sure what year or type because the data plates are missing. We looked for the S/N stampings on the frame but I was in my civilian police uniform and was...

    M1009 headlights

Plain old civilian headlights. Mine is a 85 and I had a 84 and both use the same headlights. Sylvania Extravision H6054 is what I currently have installed. Like $12 from Wally World.

    B/O driving light lense

The ones in the bumpers are actually marker lights, and the one in the grille is the drive light.

    B/O driving light lense

You can see it better with the naked eye, but it is still pretty crappy to try and drive with them alone. Some guys have better eye sight than others. During Desert Storm we always drove with NVG's on. Back at Ft. Campbell we didn't always get issued all the NVG's because of reliablity...

    B/O driving light lense

Usually not. They were just replaced. Hell most of the time we ran ours with just the clear lens part missing/busted out on purpose on the BO light to make it easier to see.

    Topless m1009s

Mine is off at the moment. I am getting new floor pans welded in, then I will be herculining the floor. I just filled in the antenna wire holes with bondo hair and just put the first coat of primer on the top. I am also replacing all of the weatherstripping on the top before I put it back on...

Very nice. If you could get a better picture it would be much appreciated. I want to do this to mine.

    CUCV Winch?

Bringing this up from the dead..... I finally got out to the base and took a bunch of pictures, including the winch mountings on a couple of M1009/M1008 vehicles. They are posted in this thread. Hope it helps...

    wanna know about 265's on a 1028

Along the same lines, will a 265/75/15 work on a M1009 as stock or would there have to be mods? Some online things say they are closer to a 33" than a 33" marked tire and was curious. Thanks.

    Ft Campbell Tenn

I can arrange a place to keep it here in Nashville. I don't have any way to pick it up, but I have an area we can store it at here on my air guard base by the airport. Just let me know.

    CUCV Winch?

There is a M1009 with a front mounted winch at the Smyrna National Guard Training Center here just south of Nashville. I saw it a few times and next time we go to the range I will snap some pics of it.

Trans fluid bleeding under the radiator?

One of two things come to mind. 1). The lines going to the radiator are loose slightly and the nuts need to be tightened at the radiator. 2). You have a hairline crack on one of the lines near the nut.

New CUCV M1009 Owner Here. Have a few small problems.

I appreciate all the responses. I have been poring over the TM's and have tracked down the coolant low issue and probably the volt guage ones. Bobert did you ever figure out for sure what the problem was?

    cost of cucvs new

I believe that is without inflation cost adjustment. I saw these same numbers on a wiki entry IIRC.

New CUCV M1009 Owner Here. Have a few small problems.

Just made it to the site. Just picked up a 1985 M1009 CUCV. Runs great. Just a few small problems with it. Headlights - Work fine. Then go out. When I say go out, everything goes out. Brake lights, turn signal, headlights, etc. Almost like the service light switch flipped to off. Turn the...

FL To Fort Campbell, KY and back

This is my first post. Just found the site after I just picked up my first MV, a 1985 CUCV Blazer about two weeks ago. I live in Nashville, about 50 mins south of FTCKY if anybody needs a hand or a place to stop for the night, drop me a PM. Be glad to lend a hand.
