That is a good looking truck. I also have wanted the OD green pickup for a good while. I also have had good luck with the 6.2s in the past and was ready for another one.
It earned it's keep tonite. We have about 1/4" of ice on top of about 1" of snow. It felt solid even with all 4 tires sliding...
Now that's what we want to hear. How are you planning on using yours? I'm driving mine to work on the snowy days and I have a small farm to play with it on.
Can't wait to see how your paint came out.
If I were there, you could borrow mine or I would come tow you. but I'm about 644 miles away.(Trust me I remember ALL of them!)
To get people's attention make a new post with "HELP" in the title. I'll bet you get plenty offers of help.;-)
And I agree that your fan motor or heater switch caused the fusible link to pop. I just replaced my fan motor with one from Napa for about $20.
Another reason to start with the fusible link coming off the driver's alt is that it is easy to find and test.;-)
Had a windy ride to the west side of Ill and the wife and I had a great chat with Ed. Sorry I missed EO2NMCB . We thought we might have seen him and his son in their '09 as we were leaving. If he has a beard, it was probably him!
The hood is in really good shape. I just need to touch up one area...
Thanks Phil. I have had fun with GPs too in the past! ;-)
So far the driver's side alt seems to be working fine now. The pass side alt may be jealous tho. Last night the gen 2 light would glow faintly at warm idle. Any additional revs made them go away tho. I thought I heard one of the belts...
The rust doesn't look that bad to me. You don't say what he wants, so it is hard to make a judgement there. And there is the fact that you will probably get this one a LOT sooner than getting one thru GL!
WOW! Am I glad noone around here had a Diagnostic Unit. That would have left a mark.....And maybe some ashes! Makes you wonder who works on some of these. Because my story is that the wire was always under the red wire ever since I got the truck....And I'm sticking to it!;-)
This truck had...
The small wire that wasn't making contact because of a dirty connection is the one on the left side of the plastic connector. The other wire coming out of the connector is a fusible link.
The wire I left off during one of my MANY cleanings is the smaller brown wire hooked on the lug with the red...
Yeah I was afraid of that. The original ground wire was broken off and the large ground wire was added. Why they didn't remove the eyelet and broken wire I have no idea! You can see the temporary end I put on the ground wire at the intake manifold in the far right of the pic. I want to replace...
