Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

It actually didn't bother me, him messing up the consumables. It allows me to see where the weak points under the good are hiding. I'm not 100% on where the oil came from, but I'm thinking it blew out of the oil fill cap, when the truck over heated. Did you watch the video attached with the...

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

I think I'm on the right track: Before I got home today, I had a buddy of mine degrease and pressure wash the engine. Upon doing that, I think he found the weak spot in every consumable under the hood. I drained the oil and have a total of roughly 3 gallons that came out. I couldn't get the...

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

I'm planning on a short day tomorrow. I've gotta go out to Abilene and work for a few hours, so I'm going to pick up a couple bottles of the purple degreaser from Sam's Club on the way back in. I bought 6 gallons of regular prestone 100% antifreeze, is it going to work, or should I take it back?

    M35a2 WIRE HARNESS

I agree I could purchase a new one, but it'd be nice to have a spare instead of scrap.

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

What type of antifreeze? Is there a special brand, or just type?

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

I'm going to try and get to that tomorrow. It's not supposed to get cold here, so I'm going to fill the radiator with plain water, rather than waste antifreeze.

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

I'm not sure about the vent. The truck spins over fine, and starts for about 2 seconds then dies. It may be the fuel, I'm not sure when or if this truck has had any maintenance done to it, after it left the military.

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

He made it about a third of the way, 15 miles, before he shut it down and we connected it to the other deuce to bring in. There's no knocking or weird noises coming from the truck.

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

Once last question: does anyone have a clue what the canister is that is connected to the heater hose are the bottom of the engine?

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

When my '70 deuce was being delivered to my house, it over heated and blew water and oil all over the engine compartment and ground. I checked the oil and it shows no sign of water, just significantly low. I am planning an oil change and fuel filter maintenance on the truck, but would like to...

    M35a2 WIRE HARNESS

Thanks for the help guys, I was able to repair the main harness on my 70 deuce. One question, has anyone ever successfully repairs the main lighting switch?

    Covered dash lights/buzzers

I have swapped bulbs on my cluster, but the bright at night is still barely lit. I can't see most of my gauges. There is a significant difference between the dim and bright position, but with the red lens cover on it's really dim. If I take the cover off, it's very bright. Is there a happy...

    m35a2 BRAKE REPLACEMENT

I've read through many of the TM's, I was thinking that there was something special about the thread that was mentioned. I've redone my brakes from the TM, word for word but still have a question. I'm still not sure what the retaining washer is.

    M35A2 air pack questions

I've got a blank area on the left side on the engine compartment, where the heater should be, but I'm in Texas and don't need one of those.. I'm thinking of mounting my dryer there, and also have my remote brake reservoir to mount in that area. Does that seem like a good area for it to be mounted?

The NEW Military Vehicle Club of North Texas

Does the truck have to be original to join? I have a 67' bobbed deuce and a 70' full deuce.

    New Deuce owner here..

I went to my local part guy and picked up a couple of brake shoes, a new throttle cable, and a Roboimpact catalog 2011 NSN# 5130-01-363-0964. He tossed in an adapter plug so that it will work with either the new or old slave plug. The roboimpact is missing the support handle that screws into the...

    M35A2 air pack questions

Y'all are correct, it's probably better to forget about the oiler. I'll just install an air dryer and call it good. Y'all said it was safe to pull the take off of the air pack, so I think I'll do that tomorrow after disassembling the brakes. Any tips for me when I do this?
