ne turbo probobly wouldn't be necessary for your application, heater wouldn't be either, in my opinion. If the truck you wanted for other reasons had them, then o.k., but shouldn't be a deal breaker.What about a winch? If you get into trouble could save tax dollars :) portable pump pto powered...

another point with the noise is that it is a 50's era engine. Noise levels weren't a major consideration. If you do turn up your pump, I would suggest a pyrometor, you may want to know whats going on

you will have a hard time getting her up to temp in the winter, if my experiences are typical, I can't get up to temp too quickly, and 10 mpg isn't too bad, thats what those pick-ups with the v-10 get :P
