I did the upgrade back in September. You will need to make some decisions:
Oil drain location
CDRV connections
Turbo exhaust routing
Get an EGT and boost gauge if you aren't going to do head studs
Be careful with getting the old exhaust manifold bolts off, i sprayed mine 1-2 times per day...
I replaced my wiper motor today. I cut the ground strap (to get the grommet off) on the old one because i didnt realize it was a ground strap. Any suggestions on what to do with the new one i installed? It didnt come with one because it is a remanufactured motor. THanks.
okay thanks! And to refill the system, the mix goes into the reservoir next to the radiator or into the where the radiator caps is? Also, i assume it is best to premix? Do you just use a clean container to mix it in?
*Disregard my question about where to add the mix, look at the LO and it...
so the bottle you keep handy to top off the coolant reservoir, is it a 50/50 mix or just water?
Also, so when you go to refill the system, you put the mixture into the reservoir next to the radiator right? I realize this might be a stupid question but this is the first time i am doing it...
No problem. The only negative to mine is that I wish they would have routed so it dumped more out the side, oh well.
Forgot to mention it as well, I think it is 3" pipe the whole way back from the turbo.
You dont have to modify the frame, just have a good exhaust shop do it. My exhaust runs inside the frame, it was a pain for them to do, but that is what i paid for.

I would recommend getting new bolts for the IP cover when you go to turn up the fuel...I say that because I snapped one of them, the end result was replacing the IP. I don't remember the size off hand but can get it if you want it.
Well the turbo will seem like less of a PITA now...I just finished up my turbo install, just havent gotten around to writing anything up yet. Glad the truck is back up and running though.
Sorry if that was not clear. I pulled mine out and am having some trouble getting it installed again. Looking for some input on how to get it back in without damaging anything. The TM just says basically to put it back in.
tequilaiam - question for you on the exhaust and intake bolts as those are the alst things i need to get before i install my turbo. What did you do for replacement hardware? Did you replace the hardware with identical hardware or just replace with bolts/studs?
Also, are y'all using any sort...
This post saved me this weekend. Blew the fusible link going from the 24 terminal bar to the starter relay under the dash. Once i figured out it was the link, i got it replaced and good as new. THanks!
