Anyone have any experience with Die Hard Platinum batteries group 35 (http://www.sears.com/diehard-platinum-automotive-battery-group-size-35-price/p-02851035000P)? I have a pair of 31M's that are a little too big to have them both up on the front battery tray, which i need to do to make room...
Did the upgrade this weekend using the guidance in post above. Went smoothly, no issues and definitely worth the $20 in parts and 3 hours i spent doing it. Doors are a little heavy and awkward to get on/off by yourself, but can be done but easier with two people.
I didnt replace the bushings...
I mis-read what you were asking. You are trying to decide between a GM turbo install and an engine swap with a cummins? There is a pretty big difference in cost i would imagine between the two...
Yeah, but I was thinking of replacing the pin with something that can just be pulled when I want to take them off. A little quicker and simpler than unbolting the hinges every time.
Has anyone considered modifying the door hinges to make them removable so you can drive around doors off? I have been contemplating it. I was thinking about the possibility of pulling the door off and replacing the pin in the hinge.
What all extra is there? The cummins should have a Holset HX35 right? The HX35 will bolt directly to a 6.5L TD exhaust manifold, the oil feed and return line is the biggest hassle (at least that is what i have found so far). That is the route i am going.
Top_prop - thanks, somehow i missed that. I knew i saw somewhere a 10A fuse mentioned but then when i went back to look for it again i couldnt find it.
MarcusOReallyus - from all the posts i have read through i have seen opinions going both ways. What in particular has been problematic?
I have been searching through all the electric fuel pump threads and have not seen any mention of folks using an in-line fuse for the pump. So what size use have y'all used for the pump, i can seem to find electric load info the airtex E8153.
Also, i have seen mixed info/opinions about a...
Because i don't have the factory oil return tube and rubber piece and because i found this:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-65397
I have to buy an oil feed line so why not just get a return line that connects directly to the above plate? probably the same cost wise and a little more...
Turbo Rebuild
Well i rebuilt the HX35 a couple weeks ago, just finally getting around to posting some details.
It was relatively straight forward, with lots of good info out there to help along the way. I ended up getting a rebuild kit directly from a Holset distributor that i found on their...
Everything I have read about intercoolers for these truck basically says the cost benefit ratio is too high. Essentially no real gain for the added cost.
