    MEP-803A frequency cable

Thought I would circle back... hope to get some time Sunday or Monday to play. Has anyone changed out this cable before... any tips about issues that have arisen (Im most concerned about being able to access the backside of this cable in the enclosure).

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

Kill a watt showed up earlier, and lucky me... she puts our 120 at the convenience outlet, and the throttle cable DOES change the hertz.

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

Will arrive Tuesday. My biggest enemy on these toys is finding time on the weekends between home improvements before winter, and daylight. Gotta love the time every year when I leave for work in the dark, and come home in the dark.

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

Ahh, gotcha. Thanks. I see no purpose to running these things slow. They are prime movers right... so let them run at their designed speed.

    802a starved of fuel?

The angle to get in there totally sucks on these 5kws. I feel like if I torque the assembly any more, I am going to break the base and the sheet metal which its mounted onto.

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

Tell me more about doing it 'wrong'?

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

The throttle does increase as the cable is pulled out, as it also changes as the rotational hertz control is moved.

    802a starved of fuel?

So finally got around to playing with my 802a yesterday. It seems the unit is getting fuel during the 'priming' stage, but once running... she runs dry about 30 seconds later. I can hear the pump running on both Prime + Run as well as Aux + Run... but is there a separate circuit for keeping the...

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

Yup, all the way out (shaft comes out further than on my 803As... so I thought I actually pulled it TOO far). Same issue at idle speed too (though thats not a good determining factor... just an observation).

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

So I got a couple of hours to play today... wired up (1) new Facet pump (with suppressor), and wouldn't you know it, she ran! What I determined after surprising myself today, was that the throttle cable on this one seemingly needs to be adjusted or replaced (pulling out and locking is fine, but...

    MEP-803A frequency cable

Oh, and to answer the question... the center button is red. Appears to be OEM in every other aspect though.

    MEP-803A frequency cable

Yeah I haven't gotten around to it, sorry. I don't intend on cutting it unless I have to. Will loop and tie off as Guyfang mentioned. Does anyonen know the size of the cable stop at the end of the existing cable (or if it can be reused)? I haven't opened the case in a week or two to look.

Best Place to Buy MEP-003 or MEP-803

Have you analyzed what your power needs really are? I thought I needed a 10kw at first, but after evaluating (and running an 803a) its overkill for what I actually use.

Best Place to Buy MEP-003 or MEP-803

My thoughts exactly kloppk. Same reason I have an 802a for my needs. Besides, these units will put out 7kw if asked, and do so without any stacking concerns.

Best Place to Buy MEP-003 or MEP-803

Are you sure you NEED a 10kw unit? If you can operate on a 5kw, that would open up more options too.

Best Place to Buy MEP-003 or MEP-803

Well what are you looking for... something that you potentially have to wrench on, or something that is delivered ready to run? You have hit the main buttons for the potential wrench work. You can source something tested and running from countless outlets. You tell us what you have in mind, and...

    Bouncing/nonresponsive fuel gauge MEP-803A

Yeah the TM of course calls out testing the sending unit first. Should I be able to test with my multi-meter at the back of the gauge alone?

    Bouncing/nonresponsive fuel gauge MEP-803A

Thanks for the TM info. I see its a sheet metal off affair.... maybe this weekend I can get to it. Like everything else, never enough time. I have a potential buyer for this unit, and I don't want to deliver something that isn't 100% on point. Thanks again.

    Bouncing/nonresponsive fuel gauge MEP-803A

Any initial thoughts on where to start the hunt? The unit is about 50% full right now. The needle is below E, but does bounce up and down slightly as the unit is running.
