HaHa - I was just going to mention the same thing Bruce - Steelsoldiers and I would have to open the windows in your 900 series after about 5min even as cold and wet as we were.
It was also nice to have heat without running the truck engine....

Interesting - I thought those kinda looked like the Denmans in your pic. I am still trying to decide what rubber to run on Ol' Blue when I get it back on the road. I'll most likely stay with the 230 and stock gearing for now....just don't want to get flattened by a pulpwood truck the first time...
Since I happen to like both but am working on a M37 now.....did you ever run the large tires on your M37 with the stock gearing? I have talked to some with stock gears and running the larger Michelins that report being able to do 55mph with a healthy 230 (and not need a bushel basket to sweep up...
I just checked my "truck notes" folder on my slaptop and found a reference for the Napa 4019 kit. It says that it comes with the filter base, fittings, and filter. I think they also offer filters with different levels of DCA precharge too depending on if you are going to run extended life or...
Will - we oughta have it running pretty soon. We cranked it over while slaved on Saturday and the good news is that my wiring repairs to the cab harness held and there were no other surprises once we had a good protective control box. The cranking speed was even fast enough that the transmission...
Ditto that - Steelsoldiers and I will also pay to pack/ship them if you'd be willing to loan us the trunion/trunion block to take them to a CAD firm here.
It would make our Dad's day to be able to raise his gin poles and rig the rear winch for lifting.
I sure would like to have seen the pics of how that DCSO truck was used. I remember some photos '03 of a 5 ton plowing through lots of standing water on Hwy. 12  Might explain a lot of things....
Having flashbacks to your last 900 series truck yet? The battery switch and start switch were...
The box and wood battery supports look a lot better than what is in the cab now - the hold-downs and cables(at least the ones that weren't burnt off with a cutting torch) may be useful too.

Soldier A must have ignored the dash sticker that states "steam cleaning will remove rustproofing"
That is the only bad thing I have noticed about Seabee trucks - lots of saltwater issues. Still, this one is not near as bad as that Dare County Sheriff's Office or the USN Beachmaster truck cabs...
You know, I thought to myself as the strap was playing out "what a great photo for Steelsoldiers!" But...the camera was at home  I'm just glad I didn't have to hike to John's in that friggin' rain to bum something large and OD with a winch on it!
I am looking forward to tackling the dash...
+1 for the QuikClot http://www.quikclot.com/
We've stocked the original version at the plant clinic for several years as well as the newer gauze versions in our first responder packs.
I now keep some at home and even carry one in my hunting coat when out in the woods.

Yeah and like a dummy I left the camera in the truck the whole day!
To say that the donor cab had rust issues was an understatement - I went through the cab floor in one place by the shifter tower. Luckily the surf line didn't reach the instrument cluster so we were able to save it...
These guys were doing some neat things with 6.2 and 6.5 performance back when I was driving my 6.2 pickup:

Cooling is something else to consider - I believe there are some changes that can be made to improve coolant flow on the 6.2/6.5 including a higher flow...
Chris is on the road this weekend so I'll throw in a reply....
We're not sure about the engine (even though it was kept covered up - hopefully a good sign) so the plan is to try and bar it over first. If it passes that test then we'll try and slave it to crank it over enough to see if it will...

10-4 on the ATF - have heard the same thing about old vs. new.
I have had good luck buying Standyne products by the case from Blue Ridge Diesel in Salem, VA:

No connection just a satisfied customer.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Power Service Additives
Stanadyne Performance Formula in the 7.3 Powerstroke, 1.9 VW TDI, and the John Deere. I started using Stanadyne back when I bought my first 6.2 GM and religiously used it with the 6.5. Does it help? Nothing scientific but the 6.5 was running strong...
