To change, or not to change? That is the question (fluids/filters)

I buy my filters from Fleetfilter.com, they sell the NAPA filters and have better prices than my local stores. I usually order a large order to get more of a discount.

    Help with truck Id

I loved driving the FL-80’s. They had comfortable air ride seats , the AC worked great, and they had an good am/fm stereo. It is not the greatest picture of the driver’s view but they have great visibility with the sloped hood and huge mirrors. I would rather drive a FL-80 through city traffic...

I have always wanted to put the cab and hood on a M-927A2 frame.

    Help with truck Id

That looks like a US Navy Freightliner FL80 crew cab. I spent many hours driving those between San Diego and the ranges at Camp Pendleton before my 2010 deployment to Iraq. The trucks we had like the one in your picture had Cat C7 engines , push button 5 speed automatic transmissions, air brakes...

    Snow Picture

Great pictures. The snow is pretty much gone from my yard now making it a lot easier to get my truck in and out of its parking spot

Hoist mounted and at work..sort of.

If the truck is at any slight angle turning a load can be very hard.. I have a drag brake and lock to help control the swing. I make sure I don’t put my body anyplace that can get smashed if the load gets out of control. After lifting a couple of heavy loads I decided to build a worm gear...

Hoist mounted and at work..sort of.

I am not sure of the cranes capacity, I built it myself. I doubled the tubing from a 2000 pound engine hoist for the main boom. I put on a 2000 pound capacity single line hand winch and a snatch block. I made my base out of a 16 inch by 16 inch plate that is a half inch thick. The base is...

m35a2 with trashed rear spring seat/tandem axil

Gene Nice to see some more members in my neck of the woods. Alex at Idaho Motor Pool has a few complete sets of rear axle assemblies for about $900. These have both axles, springs, torque rods, etc. I have been contemplating purchasing a set just for the spare parts. I also have a friend in...

    International 6X6 photos wanted

If i built my own cab and thats a big if, i would make it a soft top kind of like Bjorn's 8x8. Befor i start a project like that i would like to build a shop to do it in. I think it is the way the windshield slopes is what makes me like it so much. Pete

Nice! Looks like a big beaver built a house in the back of your truck. Pete

    International 6X6 photos wanted

I read an interesting article about these International 2.5 ton 4x4 and 5 ton 6x6. It appears these trucks where built to share as many parts as possible, kind of like the new 2.5 ton and 5 ton. I want one of these 5 tons, but a left hand drive version. I have even been thinking of how I...

    Mothers Day project

I thought I would share a couple of photos from Mothers day. My sisters and I built our mom some brick planter boxes for her back yard. Of course I am the only one with a truck so I covered the hauling duties, about 90 miles round trip. Pete

    Rain Cap Flapper

On most of the dozers and the M113A3 I operated the flappers rattled at idle, kind of annoying. When I made mine I balanced it so at idle it is almost wide open(square metal welded on the end). I also used a nut and jam nut on the bolt so I can adjust the tension, so no annoying rattle. Pete

    Rain Cap Flapper

In my area we seem to have three seasons, snow, rain, and stupid birds that can build a fifty pound nest overnight, I wanted to replace my plastic cup with a flapper. I always forget to put the cup back. I could have just went to my parts supplier and bought one but I have more fun when I build...
