Like you, I wasn't too thrilled about the pyrometer offerings out there but after some searching, I found a style on eBay that really matches the look and feel of the factory gauges being a mechanical gauge with black background and white needle/text.
It's a 2" gauge and I mounted it next to...
You know, thanks to your goading, I've now gone from joking to semi-serious about this idea... :burn:
If I do do this, I think it might be a good idea to take the runflats out of the tires to cut down on the weight. Better to make the tires able to spin to move the sofa or keep them fixed? I'm...
An interesting option to consider...
A buddy has a 6.2 with Banks kit and 4L80E in his M1028 and it's a totally different truck.
I had been planning to go with a 6.5T drivetrain from Southern Metals but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen now so, considering I'm going to have to go a...
Hmm... In true redneck fashion, after my ECV front end upgrade, I do have a spare hood and a couple tires sitting around so with some beer and creativity I bet I could make the pictured sofa happen!
Normally I'd recommend avoiding stainless steel on these trucks because of the aluminum body but the side markers are one area you can get away with using them on since they mount to fiberglass up front and plastic buckets in the rear.
This.
You've got to be quick on the draw. Way back in the day I had a full size Jeep Grand Wagoneer with an NP 219, full time 4wd t-case and it would do the same thing my HMMWV does if I'm slow shifting or hesitate in neutral going to low.
Don't know if you've seen this: Under New Deal, US Allies Will Keep Getting The Ever Adaptable Humvee
Sounds like there's going to be spare parts coming out of AMG for quite a while longer.
Oh? That's very good to know... I was under the impression they were producing domestically. Now I'm wondering about those HD ball joints I bought (but haven't installed yet).
Then again, I wonder what isn't Chinese made these days.
So that was the sound I heard earlier that corresponded to the time of the OP... Heads exploding...
Seriously though, I'm with gimpy. It'd be one thing to chop up an uncommon truck like the HMMWV prototype one member here scored or one of the unarmored Avenger variants that's been...
Work looks great!
As someone who deals with wiring and cable management for work, I can certainly appreciate all the effort you've put into that. Nice job!
I see someone else besides me likes RipIts! I just finished a Power in fact.
This is the tag on all 4 belts I have:
Mac Motors lists the part number as "SEAT BELT W RETRACTOR 3PT LH& RH".
Something else to keep in mind, there are also 2 different length receptacles a longer one that comes up and over the seat (that is included with 12480530) and a shorter one...
Since I installed thicker seats in my truck, I got rid of the old shorter green colored belts in my truck and replaced them with the newer black ones that are longer. They were all the same design, not marked as to required location, and mounted interchangeably just fine. They were substantially...
Sush, you might give them ideas! :???:
In all seriousness though, like some other states have, I suppose they could. I just renewed my registration though with no problems. In and out in less than 10 minutes without a second thought given to it.
I would like to see them justify doing so...
I think I've seen 35 mentioned as a recommended minimum. I run my MTRs at 40 front, 45 rear. Ride is just fine. In fact, seemed to handle better than when I ran them at 35.
Not being an expert on KY law, you may only need to register it if you intend to operate it on public roads. KY may or may not have a law requiring ORVs to have plates as well. Ohio recently adopted a law stating that even if it never leaves your property, ORVs are supposed to be plated.
I can't offer any advice beyond what I last posted in the already linked thread. It seems that the Ohio BMV is simply acting outside the law in prohibiting HMMWVs from being road titled and making up their own rules. I'm of the opinion that there is a bias against military vehicles within the...
