Bought an MEP-805B, started messing with it

Good to know. I'll see about getting an expander and see if I can make it happen that way. I've been messing with it all day and can't get it to seal up to save my life. If that doesn't work, I might just have someone pull the radiator and I'll take it to a shop so they can go through it anyway...

Bought an MEP-805B, started messing with it

I was thinking that too, but I would be scared of splitting it since it's just brass. Of course, I could just pull the radiator and braze it at that point.

Bought an MEP-805B, started messing with it

My first call guy matched up the hoses for me as well. Looks like the upper is a 21216 and then you cut the excess off one end. The lower was "matched" up but is too big I.D. so I will have to sent it back.

Bought an MEP-805B, started messing with it

So I bought an MEP-805B on a M200A1 trailer from another member on here and got to messing with it. The seller went through the known issues with me so I had a little bit of an idea of what I was getting myself into. I did notice that there weren't many threads on here about the 805B so I...

    HAC-36-V4B Climate control unit

I'm not really familiar with the different refrigerants other than 12 and 134, and now 1234yf. The experience I have with refrigeration is pretty much limited to automotive / heavy duty (trucks) applications. 422b sounds like it would be a better alternative. The thought process is as follows...

ROLL CALL: "West Texas Detachment" Identify Yourselves, Please.

One of these days I'll set aside the cash to spend on one. I'm in the process of buy my (hopefully last) genset today. After I have that out of my system (grew up in S. Florida), I would really like to start looking into an LMTV

    HAC-36-V4B Climate control unit

R22 was phased out 1 Jan of 2020 I believe. Or maybe it was 2019. I can't remember, but basically it is now going the way of R12. It's still out there, but they price is really high per pound. I can get 407c alot cheaper and just take the time to convert it.

    HAC-36-V4B Climate control unit

Here are some pictures I got of the units. He sold one a while back so just has the one. I would have liked to have them both.

Thank you! Good to know who we have around in case we ever need each other.

ROLL CALL: "West Texas Detachment" Identify Yourselves, Please.

Awesome, I don't have any trucks but I have seen the EB5T group on FB. Love watching them recover stuck vehicles out there. Saw when they lost that LMTV into the lake a couple years ago. I think they were talking about scrapping it. I commented on there that I would buy it and fix it if that...

    HAC-36-V4B Climate control unit

So someone near me is selling one of these units. It shows 10kw heat output and 38k BTU cooling. I can likely get it for about $250. Is it worth it? I would use it out here in the west texas heat for events and such so it will get used, but I don't know how good these units are. If it's not...

ROLL CALL: "West Texas Detachment" Identify Yourselves, Please.

Sorry to revive a "dead" thread, I just found it! El Paso reporting in here. I haven't had a chance to go through all 17 pages to see who all is here just yet. It's late and I work tomorrow. Maybe this weekend.

M200A1 Dual to single wheel conversion

So what I'm thinking is just what y'all are saying: Get two rim/tire combos for 6 lug and some lug nuts. This photo I got from Google and looks like what I'm looking for.

M200A1 Dual to single wheel conversion

Attached is the setup I'm buying. It should be here Thursday. Now, looking on google search for the trailers I'm thinking of, I realized that what I'm looking for is exactly what I have just with a single wheel. For some reason I was thinking I saw one that used HMMWV or LMTV wheels and tires...

M200A1 Dual to single wheel conversion

Got it. Thank you for the clarification

M200A1 Dual to single wheel conversion

What do you mean by "regular lug" vs "Thimbles and outer nuts"? Do I change the hubs out to do that? I believe the newer rims have a different lug pattern too, don't they?

M200A1 Dual to single wheel conversion

I understand that they use bigger tires, I'm wanting to convert to something with single tires *such as* HMMWV, or LMTV tires. Or really, anything modern. I really just want to get away from those old style tire and rims and go to a single wheel setup. I am familiar with the electric over...

M200A1 Dual to single wheel conversion

Well, looks like I'm the proud new owner of my third generator set, first to be on a trailer. It is an MEP-805B on a dual wheel M200A1 trailer. I would prefer to have a single wheel variant. I did some searching on here and came up empty handed, but I would like to see what the options are for...

    mep gen sets

This guy does/did ALOT with the old 00 series gensets. Here he has I believe a 002 or 003 hooked up to the scope and you can see the waveform is pretty clean, looks identical to grid. He is on this forum as well, not sure if he's still very active.
