the steel hardtop with turret has a different style b pillar, it ties into the turret support ring. Their is also a c pillar, but it is integrated into the sponsons and the crossbar hold up the turret support ring. The style of roof you have uses the soft top b and c pillars.

i can see that being a nice setup for a tall guy. I don't have any photos of an aluminum roof, just steel and they have turrets in them, The don't use the b billar, so that won't help. I think the Aluminum roofs attach directly to the b pillar and then there is a piece that fills the gap...

i have a 94 m998 that does the same thing...starts perfect warm or cold, but blinks about 14 times instead of a solid yellow when cold.

nothing special i can see, looks a bit overpriced, but i have seen worse.

if you just want the look of a slant back and don't really need a turret, checkout black dog custom fiberglass slantback kit. That looks amazing and would be overall fairly cheap if you found a nice 6500 truck to put it on.

On the kits look at all of the seams on the roof, sponsons, and hatch to handle area. Also inside the roof above the doors. The weapons tray and support. A little surface rust is ok, just stay away from rot.

i would say 1985 (very low serial number), but a pic of the complete truck would help.

i think the frame with the foam looks great, even without the cover. You should make a deluxe version that is all welded larger diameter steel or aluminum tube (the same diameter as the foam) Maybe with the angle material that meets the tops of the fenders. Like you see on some hmmwv roll...

I would buy a clean slant back kit first (with turret support ring, bearing, hatch, c-pillar, hatch, sponsons, etc). This is the rarest part(s). Make sure the kit doesn't have severe rust issues. Then take your time picking the perfect truck to convert. Buy a 2 door truck. You can get one...
