Have a chance to get a nice rebuilt Cummins 400 Big Cam III, im just wondering if the gearing/power combo will be affected if i kept the 654 allison, it being a five-speed I dont want to "run out of gear", and prompt higher RPM's. Hence the cummins 400 came in 915's with those cat transmissions...
daily drive mine in louisiana all the time, mine exceeds 240 but with my laser temp gun says 190, im sure the temp guage isn't always right, but hey somedays it reads correctly

Its sounds like they left of the wiper or a seal that tucks on the outer bearing with the two spindle nuts holding it on, other words its between the bearing and spindle nut
we have a set like that 30 ton but planetary ends, in the parts manuel i dont see a sun gear or three planet gears ,its just showing a spindle and one hub w/bearings thats it for your axle
