Does anyone have any experience painting over the dupli-color bed armor using house paint? I was considering applying this coding throughout the outside of the truck but I want to make sure that the paint will stick And last.

I bought a sample of the color that I'm gonna use and test sprayed a few spots. I think a 1 to 3 ratio works perfectly. I even think you can go a little thicker because it came out with no hesitation. The gun I used was a HF with a 1.4 tip.

What ratio of paint to water where you using. 1 part water to 3 parts paint? Or did you just eye ball it?

I'm thinking of pain in my HMMWV with Behr paint which has primer in it. Do you guys recommend me prep in the circus with primer? If so what primer should I use? I'll be using a HVLP gun from Harbor Freight.

So it looks like Behr is the brand of choice. Am I looking for a particular product line or will any Behr exterior latex paint work? Also, should I get it with paint and primer together?

I didn't know the seals were riveted on. You need to realize that I don't have any experience with these doors. That's why I'm trying to find someone local who has these Doors so that I can take a look at them. I wouldn't want to ruin a good set of doors in the process. Especially not someone...

Ya that's true. But I don't know of anyone willing to let me barrow a set of doors. The good thing about wood is that it's easy to work with. I'll post pics of the finished product.

It's not insulation from the cold that I'm concerned with. Aluminum soaks up the heat. Now I don't have any experience with the aluminum doors but I can only imagine how hot they might get on a warm summer day.
